Wtih all of these hype about 2012 and Planet X, why not ride the hype?
Make the Mayan Calendar to be an elaborate warning of the return of PlanetX/Unicron to earth. Make a backstory that Unicron was on earth before he was banished/teleported to to the far reaches of space; like Atlantis existed that the "space bridge" targeted to him but somehow caused a cataclysmic/destruction to the land and its civilization

2012 would be an interesting thread to follow but I don't want Unicron (or by extension Primus) in the movie verse.

Well what's left? First film was Megatron, then we raise the bar again with the Fallen and Devestator. So, by logical extension, we have to present a bigger threat to make for a more climactic finish.

Considering that they foiled a plan to blow up the SUN, I can see the next film focusing around Unicron, since a giant evil planet-eating metal transforming SATAN is the logical next step up from blowing up the sun.

i see what you did there. but compared to the first movie, the ante was upped. they did more damage than megatron and his little posse. like the movie or not, the bar was raised. a bit.

I would personally not want to see Unicron at all in the movie universe. I do feel like the Transformers have to leave Earth for the third film. I can't imagine some intergalactic coincidence happening on Earth again.

i cant understand why people dont want Unicron and Primus in the movie-verse. the whole point of trasnformers is that its a multi-verse and that across all of it Unicron and Primus exist in every single solitary universe. how can they not exist in this one? its only logical unless we want to retcon the most important part of TF mythos.

and why cant a coincidence bring them to earth again? hello? Matrix = essence of Primus in most universes. and the only thing that can destroy Unicron so why cant he be coming to earth to destroy it? it seems very appropritate to me.

So much wrong with all of that. The Armada comic is the only one to really establish a multiverse with Unicron existing in all other universes. Primus only exists in G1 and AEC. So without these characters in RID and Animated, they really don't exist in "every single solitary universe." It really isn't one of the most important parts of the TF mythos.

Secondly, the Matrix is generally the accumilated knowledge and experience of past Primes. It was forged by Primus, but does not contain his essence.

That being said, I'd love to Unicron because I want the inevitable Prime and Megatron reluctant team-up.

Unicron in a live action Transformers movie? No thanks, it's just too ridiculous.
The max they should go are Transformers like Trypticon or Metroplex, I mean Transformers being slightly bigger than Devastator. Too bad that Devastator was such a lame combiner in the movie.

Did you read the Universe1.0/Wrecker comics? Primus literally said "then it is decided. it will be played out across the alternates." Hasbro themselves established the retcon that these two exist in every universe. you cant just choose to ignore their existence simply because they havent been seen there yet. and yes it is important otherwise how do you even work out how transformers exist without some sort of creator for them. In ROTF Epps said" if God created us in his image, then who created him?" referring to Optimus of course.

and bs on your second statement. hasbro has literally stated in cannon material that it contains the essence of primus in most continuities. go to tfwiki and tell me im wrong. im sorry but these are undeniable facts and the only way unicron could be given introduction into movie-verse

i also want the inevitable team up, just like how it happened in Armada

Yeah, I read those comics, but don't consider them canon (and by canon meaning anything that is easily accessable to the community at large, which those convention/club comics aren't). And sigh, if I must quote a wiki:rolleyes: , it actually states "Unicron is able to travel across realities at will, a meandering plague upon existence itself." Source, his titanium bio. So technically, they're making the point that ONE Unicron exists, but he can travel between universes. Though this is news to me that we're now considering bios canon worthy now.

And please, point me to a source where Hasbro confirmed Unicron and Primus must exist in every Transformers universe.

The Matrix as in the Marvel comics is the essence of Primus, yes. I actually had to go back and reread "Primal Scream." But in the cartoon, it is simply the collective knowledge of past Matrix bearers. No Primus involved. Though, again point me to a statement where Hasbro has clearly defined every Matrix solely as the "essence of Primus." They haven't and nothing is firmly set in stone as being absolutely essential for any contintuity.

The movies are a series in and of themselves. It's probably safer not to try to tie it all into the established continuity.

That said, the whole thing with the Mayan calendar would make a great idea. Not sure about Unicron, but there's plenty of other things that could be incorporated. In fact, I'd like the third one to explore the origins of the Allspark. If that could tie together with Planet X, so much cooler.

That seems like the kind of story that could very well be considered for the third. Sounds pretty cool.

    I second that.

And the last time Nibiru was passing Earth was at the time of the Dinosaurs . . . . ENTER DINOBOTS!!!

There you go, the Dinobots have their in. They are slaves to Unicron until they meet the Autobots and switch sides.

    Just a thought. :gen069:

I wouldn't mind Unicron; albeit in a very different form. Something very alien and very large that implies a pending doom for all - Autobot/Decepticon/Mankind would be very cool. The Decepticons really lost the intimidation factor in ROTF. We need a force that seems genuinely terrifying.

The thing is, Unicron doesn't need to be a giant sphere that transforms into a robot. Give him a far more alien form. He doesn't need to be planet-sized either. Something that is a couple of miles in length would still suffice. The alternative of course could simply be to make a movie-original nemesis that fits the roll.

I think it would be cool if they make Cybertron both Primus and Unicron. The unforeseen consequence of the Transformers' war is that they unknowingly corrupt their planet/god into this evil menace bringing him to Earth to destroy his wayward children.

    This, 100%

I like the idea of Unicron being in the next movie (mainly because, as stated before, there is nowhere else to go after you kill one of the original Transformers who, according to the movie, was able to overpower the other 6), but a planet sized Transformer would be ridiculous to get on film, especially from a human's point of view.

A smaller (big, but not planet sized) version, akin to the Cybertron deluxe version but much bigger, I could definitely get behind.

I would have to agree. I know the hardcore fans are itching for this to happen, but I just don't see the writers being able to pull this one off. A giant planet-eating robot? Those unfamiliar with the Transformers universe will REALLY have a field day with that one. It's bad enough many critics had a hard time with Devastator. I don't even think Trypticon or Metroplex would make a good fit for the filmverse. Tidal Wave, maybe. That's about as big as they should go for the filmverse.
I'd just like to see Megs and company come back and open a can of whip-ass on the Autobots like they've never seen before...QUITE POSSIBLY leaving the door open for a fourth film (I can dream. lol). He could add more troops to the fold, like the Combaticons (military vehicles/military spies), and bring in more seekers to get revenge on Optimus and company.
    Call it TF3: Decepticons Forever!

They add Galactus in Fantastic Four 2 and it sucked. Bay probably can not do it realistic. I don't want unicron in TF3 at all
