That sounds like a really good idea. It would be amongst the reasons why N.E.S.T. had to try to keep the existence of the Autobots and Decepticons secret to start with. If other countries learned that the U.S. were keeping powerful alien robots, they might be inclined to respond negatively to that. And the Decepticons might be willing to stike deals with some people or certain organizations to raise the pressure against the Autobots on Earth.
The Autobots are supposed to be warriors by necessity, not by choice. They may be upset if many humans seem to view them more as 'weaponized machines' rather than 'sentient beings'. Whle most of the world may be assessing the threat of these technological aliens, the few human allies that the Autobots have (Sam, Major Lennox and the rest of the N.E.S.T. crew) may be trying desperately to convince others that the Autobots are not just 'fighting machines', but 'living, thinking aliens that only want peace and freedom'.
I had another idea as well. What if the Autobots were to discover that some humans had been keeping one or more other Autobots hidden away in stasis for research? Kind of like how Megatron was held by Sector 7 for many years. Maybe other Autobots had landed on Earth and were apprehended by humans without Prime ever being informed. It could be a secret organization of even another government organization that are keeping Autobots as hidden captives for research. Once Prime and his active Autobots become aware of some of their friends being held in such a manner, they would likely be feeling betrayed by and could lose some of their trust in humans. This would also be another possible way of introducing new Autobot characters in TF3.

I really like your idea of mentioning something about Optimus Prime's "kill or be killed" attitude. Although I am a fan of his new, more darker attitude it would be nice to hear from Prime just why he's so fast to pull the trigger at a defensless Con. |
I thought Optimus's line: "We've witnessed your human capacity for war. It would absolutely do more harm than good." in response to Galloway's questioning about why the Autobots refused to share their weapons technology with them was a really interesting sounding issue. It seems to be one of the little disagreements between the Autobots and some humans. When these kinds of disagreements start growing, how can the alliance between the Autobots and humans last?
And surely we could do with exploring Movie Prime's motives, attitudes and beliefs more. What is his stance and thinking toward some difficult issues? It seems that this Prime is very willing to destroy his enemies at a moment's notice. Why? What is his reason for killing? How does he feel about it? I get a sense of movie Prime being the kind of leader that sees the bigger picture of things. His actions work toward a greater good in his mind. He kills Decepticons unflinchingly for reasons of survival, inhibiting their dangerous progress and protecting others.
