I'd have to watch the movie again but I thought it was everything everybody has said above plus a reference to the megatron and starscream's conversation on the jungle planet when megs accused starscream of trying to take over when he died and hinting at the fact that starscream was a coward and starscream saying somebody had too take over and hinting at the fact that he survived AND brought Megatron back to life by retreating.

It's kind of important that Starscream chimed in right there. Megatron is characterized more strongly in this movie, not just as a brutal leader but someone who just plain sees Cybertronian life as more important than Human life. To him The Fallen was a sort of savior who'd harness the power to revive his homeworld.

You can actually see a sort of emotional reaction from Megatron when The Fallen dies, he's sitting there, not sure if she should jump Prime or pull out. It's Starscream then who becomes the voice of reason and tells him the smart move is to get the hell out of there.

It does show Starscream's loyalty to the cause as well. He could have just snuck away and left Megatron to bumrush Prime or stand around slack jawed until he took a railgun shot from teh humans.

LOL i see it as Starscream being midly subtle is saying they should make a run for it 1, cause their forces have been destroyed 2, the Fallen is dead and 3, having Prime's full attention on him right now while he's already injured and Prime is seriously powered up would be suicide.

Running to get repaired and sort out their next move would be better then staying and having a very high chance of getting killed... again.

Now if we can get more of quotes such as SC and none of that crap talk from characters like Mudflap and Skids would make this a freakin more awesome movie.
