His notoriety would override the Transformers themselves, and that would just cause a nerdrage with the explosive power of an atomic bomb, because the fandom would end up hating him due to Optimus having to take a backseat to him in terms of screen time and what not.

Plus, it would drag down his career. With ROTF receiving such negative reviews bordering on hatred, TF3 most likely won't be well received either, and the critics will try and shame him for being a part of the franchise with quips like "Oh Fresh Prince, how the mighty have fallen" or something equally lame. The box office will probably be ginormous (especially if ROTF continues to do as well as it has been), but beyond that, it would most likely have a negative effect on his career.

Transformers is great for making new, notable film stars (Shia, Megan, Tyrese), reviving old, somewhat dimming careers (John Turturro, Josh Duhamel), but to include someone like Will Smith will just be bad. It'll look like they're throwing him in to save a sinking ship, or a risky ploy to make TFs bigger on the big screen. Neither one will be well received.

Do I think he'd be great in it? Sure. He'd be funny, he's proven he's good with alien flicks, and his name would certainly turn some heads, but he's too big for it, and while ROTF is excellent, the chances of topping it are pretty slim, and we could end up with another TF07 on our hands, and it's not fair to put him in something like that.

i said no but if he should voice a Abot/Dcon it should be kept on the DL and not tell anybody until the movie comes out. then itll be like, pretty neat movie, what? will smith was in the movie as blaster? no effin' way!

I voted no becuase I don't want him in it just because hes Will Smith..

Though I actually really like the guy.. Ali was a really good movie.. and hes a good reliable actor for a specific sort of role... But if they had a good part written .. and he did a good job with the part.. then sure I'd like to see him in it.. I'd rather a real actor upstage the transformers than some no talents like the beef and fox..

Whoa. Now wait a minute. Fox might not be able to act her way out of a paper bag, but LaBeouf can act his butt off. Hell, if it wasn't for him, the human parts of TF07 would've been a complete waste. He's funny, with excellent comedic timing, he's willing to jump head first into the stunts, and he can actually act. To say he's a no talent is not only wrong, it's silly.

That could be doable. However, due to the amount of lines and screentime the robots receive (especially the second stringers like Sideswipe, Jolt (Jolt especially), Arcee) ...it would cost them more just to have him utter 1-2 lines than it would for some portions of the movie to be filmed. Or, if he wanted to be a dick about it and demand his character had more screentime, the rest of the robots would suffer as a result.
