LOL! Nick Cage did his best acting before Bay got ahold of him. His roles are barely more than playing a thick-neck chowderhead ever since. Not saying that it's Bay's fault, just that "big actor" doesn't equal "quality actor".

This thread brought out what I don't like about Michael Bay, but something that I now like:

Cage and Affleck both won Oscars for work BEFORE they worked with Bay. He's claiming to have "discovered" them now. Ego huuuuge.

However, calling out Megan Talentless Fox on her penchant for saying stupid things, and the fact that no one knew her before Transformers? Bravo.

Here's hoping Megan Fox goes out and gets that tattoo sleeve she's been talking about so no other director will ever take her seriously and she goes away.

The robbing the diaper and get chased by police scene is just priceless.

And about this, I say Bay just spot on about Megan Fox.

I liked the way he worded Shia's career, how it "exploded" once he was in Transformers. That's :bay  for ya.

I'm a little surprised no one's commented on the fact that Megan herself said that the acting was bad and there was too much action.

Yes Mr Bay, keep telling yourself your film is all about acting, I'm sure Robert DeNiro went to see it to pick up a few tips....

Geez. Come on Bay! You don't have to put up with her crap. I mean, she is making a good point. The movie isn't about acting, but it doesn't mean it is the director's fault if Fox just can't act to begin with. There are plenty of pretty girls in Hollywood with actual acting abilities. TF3 will rock if Mikaela is killed-off in the beginning.

Yup. Megan's silliness aside, I wanted to punch a wall after seeing this statement.
She wants more focus on acting, and this is the response he gives? You can't make this stuff up.

Cage's choice of films has been hit and miss over the years, but to say he wasn't well known before The Rock is also fits in the area of "Very ridiculous things."

I guess Connery was a relative unknown too?

Ben Affleck was handed his Academy Award in March of 1998, and Armageddon came out in July of 1998. He had been cast in that role and worked on the film well before all of the Good Will Hunting attention came his way.

Nicholas Cage was handed his Academy Award in March of 1996, and The Rock came out in July of 1996. He had been cast in that role and worked on the film well before all of the Leaving Las Vegas attention came his way. Granted, he was a known actor before this but he certainly wasn't the high profile "super star" that he's been known as since.

Very surprisingly similar situations. Did he "discover" either of them? Well, kind of. He chose them before their exposure sky-rocketed. So maybe he just has a good eye for potential.

If anything actors should be thrilled to work with him because his cast has a penchant for winning Oscars for other films they did right around the time his films come out. Of course, Fox didn't win anything back in January 2009 so maybe she should have taken up some of those other films she got offered after TFTM... oops.

If Fox wants to bitch about the acting in the movie, maybe she should have performed better... being one of the actors and all...
