He had been cast in that role and worked on the film well before all of the Leaving Las Vegas attention came his way. Granted, he was a known actor before this but he certainly wasn't the high profile "super star" that he's been known as since.
Very surprisingly similar situations. Did he "discover" either of them? Well, kind of. He chose them before their exposure sky-rocketed. So maybe he just has a good eye for potential.
If anything actors should be thrilled to work with him because his cast has a penchant for winning Oscars for other films they did right around the time his films come out. Of course, Fox didn't win anything back in January 2009 so maybe she should have taken up some of those other films she got offered after TFTM... oops.
If Fox wants to bitch about the acting in the movie, maybe she should have performed better... being one of the actors and all... | True, to the fact that both Bay films were in production before their win. But, Nicholas Cage had been well known since the 80's. Raising Arizona in '87, and Moonstruck in '88. |

Nor Martin Lawrence. After Bad Boys? They are headlining movies. Shia had Disturbia but it was TF's that got him world wide exposure to where he is now a leading man himself.
Nic Cage's career got a boost from the Rock. Ben Affleck got a boost from Armageddon. They may have won an award before their movie with Bay came out; but how many people were fans of them based on their Oscar-performanced movie? Not as many as there are now that are fans of them due to their big blockbuster movie. Before the Rock, I had no interest in Cage. Same for Affleck. And that was mostly to do with my age. I wasn't interested in those kinds of movies at that time. It didn't mean they were any less of an actor. It's just that an action blockbuster just garners more attention than an Oscar performance overall. It lets the rest of the world know you exist.
As for Megan, she admitted on Letterman that she has a problem with her mouth and for authority, so she has just proved herself true. She was nothing before TF's. Now she's got movies coming up where she's the lead character. Why? Because Bay showcased her in a huge Blockbuster movie that gave her the exposure to be a big name; to be a leading lady. This will now allow her to "act" in the way she feels acting should be.
Truth be told: He could have gotten any pretty face to play her character. There are thousands of girls out there that would have killed for such an opportunity. Breaking into the movie industry is like winning the lottery and she doesn't seem to respect that. So many great actors started from one big break and are forever grateful to the people that gave them that chance. Evidently, she doesn't get it. No substance; just another pretty face.... |

hmmm, that's interesting. Good points. Regardless if he did or didn't discover them or he is stroking his ego, I give him props for putting Fox in her place. Twat. That word was made for Megan Fox. http://www.tf2cards.com |

Notice their movies and roles prior to Michael Bay and then look at them after Michael Bay. There is a HUGE difference. His movies help careers. If I were an actor looking to get noticed, I'd be looking to do a Bay movie. Guaranteed exposure. In Hollywood, any publicity is good publicity. |

The only problem is that Fox is probably right.... |

The only problem is that Fox is probably right.... | if you read between the lines, Shia has said things along the same lines, just not as blatant. |
