I hate Transformers. I've been hating Transformers since 1985... and I have the toys, comics, videos and DVD's to prove it.

Independant thought in a fandom can be an unwelcome and dangerous thing.

I'd prefer continuity, and would like to see Bay, Kurtzman and Orci back. I'd also like to see something closer to Star Trek in the next script the writers turn in. Failing that...

Director: Edgar Wright
Screenplay: Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg

They're best known for their comedy work, I know. However... if you watch Hot Fuzz, it's amazing how tightly plotted the film is, and there are moments when Wright has Bay's style down pat. Also, you'd keep humor but it would be pretty clever stuff. And if you watch Spaced, it's obvious they're all genre fans. I think they'd give us a pretty good movie.

I also wouldn't mind seeing Tim McCanlies(writer of Iron Giant and writer/director of Second Hand Lions) working on the script, either.

that script was then later doctored again by paul haggis and some other dude.

Irrelevant, i think people have had enough of military. also, it is possible to make a transformers movie where they don't feature much or at all.

And Budget should not matter to you, only the studio, just because Bay comes in under budget doesn't make him a good director. These movies make profit so going over 10 million is not a big deal(truth).

Transformers is Transformers...why would you want something like Star Trek?!
I really can't see why everyone is going all ga-ga over that movie. It wasn't that great. Ok...but nothing to be drooling over.
And keep Bay...just dump Kurtzman and Orci. To call themselves fan boys and then give us TF:ROF...they got some 'splainin' to do! Let the writers from some of the series give it a shot. Those two blew it this time.
