The Action was good. But some of the movie was painful to watch. I love movies. And the more I think about this one the more I think how bad it was. Look at Iron Man, and Dark Knight. Those are examples of how you can do a fun Action Movie with out it being terribly written. These are issues I have In the 1st movie the entire hacker stuff could be removed with little to no effect on the film. In this one the college stuff could be taken out and the film would not suffer much. There are too many Characters introduced with little or no point we don't get to know them or care. The Constructicons are confusing, When were clones talked about in the film? Fallen was a Prime. And can only be killed by a Prime. Yet Optimus is a Prime and the same rules do not seem to apply. I don't care if they say only a human named Sam can kill Primes in the movie. But please follow your own rules. Thats the very basics of SCIFI You make rules via dialog. But you must follow them.
Oh for fuck sake stop trying to make a mountain out of a god-damn mole hill. You didn't like the movie. That's fine. But saying it's an embarassment to transformers and fans should be embarassed to even BE fans? Get over yourself.
Exactly, I saw this film with a group of people who have very little transformer knowledge and they found the film's plot a convolted mess that seemed made up on the fly. Action was cool, but the rest made no sense and became tiresome to them.
I have no reason to pretend the movie was any better than just "so-so." The action didn't excit me, the characters, I don't call them "racist" I will call them "boring stereotypes", and the designs are just too busy and hard to follow. The humor was teenage potty humor, which I avoid in all other films, so why would I want it here? There is nothing exciting about this film to me - and that's the crime, as I really like Transformers. That's where seeming "hate" stems from, the expectations that they could have made a good movie that I should be loving, they put so much effort and hype into it, and made this absolutely medium quality film.
I agree. As a huge fan of Transformers I want to enjoy these films. I really do. But 2 times during this movie in the theater I said to my self. Wow this is really not good. And with that I am forgiving A LOT as a Transformer fan. The 1st film has things that bother me but that came over time. When I 1st saw it I loved it. This one was bad the 1st time through. I fear whats going to happen each next time I view it. Kinda like Batman Forever, In the theater I thought it was OK had some issues but now I can't even watch it.
Replace 'if by hater' and 'dislike' to represent those that love this movie .... it can be said both ways you know... Why are explosions so important? Sure a well pulled off explosion in a movie is cool but after seeing them over and over don't they lose their 'coolness'? Like too much of a good thing?? +10000000 And yea, Im totally embarrassed to say Im a Transformer fan now. You must be someone who liked the movie?
So what if I am? Even if I didn't like the movie I don't see why I should be embarassed to be a fan. That's completely idiotic.
*cough* He said exposition, totaly different than explosion...unless he ment an explosion of exposition at the end of the film, which isn't too far off the mark.
Well, I wouldn't say the movie made some people embarrassed to be Transformers fans, rather...a bit upset.
When a movie sucks ass and many people agree, they usually say it sucks ass. Much like last year this beautiful film called Let the right one in was lauded, what's up with that ehh?
And when the praise crap like Shrek 2, VASTLY overrate things like Up (97%?? Please, ROTF was better than that movie easily, nobody complains about the lame ass comedy in that), and 91% for Borat, the least funny movie I've ever seen? 93% for Drag Me to Hell? Pi (the worst movie ever made) - 85%. Rotten Tomatoes is the WORST place to go to get an idea of if a movie is good or not.
Seriously, it doesn't take an elitist movie snob to voice the same opinion. Some random cinema goer who might have a perchant for Tarantino and De Palma would say the same thing.
Dude, look around the internet. Fact is tfw2005 users are considered a joke amongst the internet, to think a small minority hating the film here is somehow just that, a minority that didn't like the film, is very naive. Since the minority voice here is the majority voice across the internet.
No, seriously, it's NOT that simple. As has been stated repeatedly, the problem is not that Optimus kills. It's the fact that it's done in a cold-blooded, ruthless manner. They turned movie Prime into the Punisher. Some TF fans like that characteristic. Fine. But the fact is, that portrayal is unusual for Optimus Prime, and generally isn't consistent with his incarnations of the past 25 years.
