ive been reading in a few threads that megatron supposedly followed the fallen because he thought the fallen was going to turn him into a prime. does this sound stupid to anyone else? i think this is kind of like when everyone ran with the idea of megatron being primes brother in the first movie. its expanded universe stuff that has no real relevance to the actual movie.

why would the fallen want to turn megatron into a prime, which happens to be the only thing that can kill him? megatron is power hungry, extremely powerful, and very self serving. it seems like the biggest mistake thing he could possibly make. the only other explanation is that the fallen was using megatron and never planned to actually do this. do people really think megatron is that stupid? why would megatron believe for a second that the fallen will turn him into a weapon whos only real purpose would be to kill the fallen? what else would megatron even gain from it? hes already basically as powerful as a prime, as shown by his fight with optimus in the first movie. with optimus dead, who exactly would he need more power to fight? nobody but prime stood a chance against him. it just doesnt seem to make sense from any angle.

the fallen wouldnt do it, unless he suffered some severe learning disability and megatron wouldnt believe he would do it, unless he was extremely naive.

not really considering Prime can be killed which he did at one point by Meg...so that contradicts what Jetfire and Fallen assumption that a Prime can only be kill by a Prime...unless the Fallen only meant himself

it seems like, in the movieverse, a prime just has the gift of insight and courage, allthough it took 3 of the biggest decepticons to kill optimus in ROTF

I dunno how they fit this in there and didnt explain more about it was deff the one thing i was confused about in the film...

If Megatron and Prime are brothers megatron would be a prime which would make sense why he could kill OP but then if megatron was a prime and he knew the fallen could be killed by one why didnt he just do so himself and then take the power for himself.... megatron ahd to have known he was going to be betrayed or somthing at some point...

    thats the ...??? part

I don't really see a condradiction between the sibling thing and Megs not being a Prime. Given that Transformers are hatched, wouldn't it simply mean that Megs and Optimus were from the same gerneration/stock so to speak. Perhaps Primes are a unique entity among hatchlings. What I would like to know is what is the significance of being a Prime in the movieverse? It's never explicitly stated, yet it seems pretty important.

I believe the fallen was referring to himself...

And Megatron, a Prime... nah. If there is a third movie, he'll probably be after the matrix.

Between Jetfire's lunacy & Fallen's boasting, I'd take their claims with a grain of salt, both probably quoting legend or something. But Prime is Prime, his full name very much means "Best First". This incarnation ruled a people, reads ancient Cybertronian, drops Decepticons like Bonecrusher, Fallen, Grindor and the like for the scrap pieces they are, his diplomacy is abundant, his focus a more dark tone than any prior incarnation. Sure, there's always Megatron to wipe the floor with him, or sure kill him, but Prime dying & being brought back with the power of the Matrix is nothing new, and its what makes Megatron the true nemesis of Optimus. Expect the tyrant's undeniable death in movie three. Bayformers Optimus has been, per the story, alive for eons, holds a title of Prime which means something - the extent to which we have no idea, he's been shown to have compassion and concern for humans to the point which some use to say its the reason Megatron wiped the floor with him in the first film, and yet he's been shown to possess the big guns of asskickedry which were fully displayed in film two and only failed him when shanked from behind, and now he's been temporarily bonded with the power of an ancient Decepticon (though that seemed done by the end of the last battle scene) and brought back to life by this continuity's Matrix. We've only known this Prime for two movies, that both limits what we can know about him so far and focuses what's he's done to date.

You ask what's makes Prime so great? I return with; What doesn't?

i think being a Prime will hold a key to something on Cybertron that only Megatron found out about...maybe the Creation Matrix/Vector Sigma/ etc etc

Yes the fallen was refering to himself. Prime was stabed though the chest. I think that would kill any bot, except G1 Megatron. He can survive a blast strong enough to move a planet.

i think this movie completely overruled the idea of megatron being primes brother. jetfire mentions something like prime is the last descendant of the primes. if megatron was closely related he would have shared some of the prime lineage.

as far as i could tell being a a prime didnt mean a whole lot in practice. theoretically it was probably a big deal, like being part of a noble family, and it made you more in touch with the matrix and all that ancient tech, but optimus didnt seem to have any great strength or speed advantage in the forrest fight. he was just better. his skills were beyond starscream and grindor, and even good enough to hold off megatron with them but he didnt just throw them around with some matrix enhanced strength or anything.

The movieverse has the tendency of not explaining alot , and making huge gaps and holes that leaves ppl confused , looks like the writers of this movie did not double check all the mistakes in the movie
