    The Prime's built more Primes, which made fewer Primes, which made fewer Primes, until only two were left. One soiled the name, (Megatron) and so Optimus is the only Prime left.

    I still think TFs are "built", then put into incubation pods (stasis pods?) and then grown. In the Movieverse that is.

    well, for a more serious answer-i think that the remaining 6 Primes created Optimus Prime-they built him and gave him life through the Allspark, as they knew The Fallen was going to do something nasty. so they made their Heir to destroy him, then sent Optimus Prime and the Allspark to Cybertron-back before he would remember Uncle Fallen.

    Optimus Prime created as the last Prime destined to bring down the Fallen where the others could not. Possible, but how were they ever gonna explain all that to Optimus when he came of age?
