More robots & more explosions = less character development & less plot.

    I sure hope not!

No. I want to see Prime talking with his fellow Autobots about their future.

    this^

When first movie came out sooo many people were talking shit about it
and how, there were not enough transformers.
Then, one day we found out that ROTF will have around 40 transformers.
And then ,people again talked shit because of less character development. Decide what you want already. damn

Wheelie,Prime,Bumblebee,Starscream,Megatron,Jetifre,Twins, Fallen got enough screentime and you got awesome fight scenes in ROTF.

Was ROTF an improvement on TF1?

    Yes, in many ways.

If everyone had been 'happy', would we have had the forest fight, Megs v. SS dialogue and generally everything that people feel are an improvement over the first film? Doubtful.

Its one thing to rail over lame details, but quite another to suggest ways to improve the entertainment experience. We are fortunate that Bay cares to listen to some fans' concerns.

The first movie had barely any characterization for the Transformers: Unless your idea of characterization consist of: "Hi, I'm Ratchet, I'm the doctor and it smells like teenage hormones in here. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go trip on power lines and be useless." Sorry, that doesn't cut it when so much screen time is being wasted on stupid crap that adds nothing to the story.

The Decepticon forces had no characterization at all. In these movies they seem to be stuck as soulless killing machines(who are surprisingly weak with the movie calls for it.)

If anything, ROTF was an improvement in this regard, because we got to see some of the Transformers actually talk(of course some of that was wasted on stupid characters like the Twins, but still).

Overall ROTF had some awesome scenes, but they took up 1/4 of the movie while the rest was like some bizarre mix of American Pie and National Treasure. But at least it's watchable.

I can't even sit through the first movie. It's not worth it to sit through an hour of tedious crap for maybe 40 seconds of robot action. ROTF beats it easily, even with the godawful comedy, and that's saying a lot.

I want the next movie to be Transformers. With the Transformers talking amongst themselves and getting actual screentime and character development.

some good points. But every right decision he makes, he tends to make another bad one which ends up being the focus of criticism in this film.

    Yes. 8D

Lol... I didn't like this one as much as the first one, I think, but it was still pretty good. I just felt like they're all more about Sam and the humans, and that's not really what I want to see in a Transformers movie... or cartoon show.

He does. I wrote him a letter a year and a half ago. It went like this:

    Dear allmighty auteur Michael Bay,

Please make the next movie have a whole bunch of Transformers in it, but make sure none of them get introductions or are important to the story in any way. Give the humans more screen time, since the movie is called "Army Guys". Or at least, it should be.

Please include lots of slow motion running scenes. Like a lot. In fact, enough that the movie is at least 2 1/2 hours long. But make sure a good 2 hours doesn't advance the plot in any way. I don't want to think at all during this movie.

You know what would be funny? Give some of the Transformers balls. Like metal testicles. Also, maybe have some of them hump things. That'd be funny. One of them should fart, too.

I don't like to read. Can you make some illiterate Transformers? That'd be awesome. Make sure they get to make phallic jokes and also say things like "pussy" and "bitch". Cursing is funny.

Also, make sure any Transformers from G1 that make an appearance look nothing like the G1 versions. G1 is stupid and only old people like it.

Also, please include scenes of a frat party, and something to do with weed. Weed rules, bro!

    Love,
    Mospeada

See, he DOES listen to us!

Maybe, now that both films qualify as blockbusters that can make Paramount and Michael Bay megabucks despite the stars being CGI-created robots, one or both parties involved might be more comfortable with the human stars taking something closer to guest-starring roles and the robots end up the stars in presence and actual screentime? Though I actually do like the main human characters that were featured in the film (Mikaela, Sam's parents, Lennox and Epps, even Sam, Leo and Simmons in the second one), I wonder if Paramount and Michael Bay get that people want to see the robots for the most part and give us robots in TF3. At this rate, I don't think it's diehard Transformer fans like us who want to see just the robots.

I actually liked almost all the Human characters and thought many of the 'human only' scenes were hilarious. Sam and Mikaela fighting in the library was comedy gold and one of my favorite scenes.

Transformers has never been 'just about transformers'. Humans have always had a large role to play. The Autobots win the war and end the stalemate because the positive impact the humans have on them.
