Batman, like most other comic book superhero movies, is at its core about a hero who dresses in a silly/theatic costume, who fights criminals who dress in silly/thematic costumes. 30 or so years ago, no one would have though that movies based on this concept would have been critical darlings as the recent Batman movies, Iron Man, and Spiderman 1+2 have shown. What you were doing was dismissing the idea that Transformers can be adapted into a solid movie like other, similar properties have been done with in the past. | Completely agree. Just because your source material comes from a cartoon or comic does not mean that a movie must have those same goofy elements found in those mediums. I was really hoping that with a movie franchise and a new general audience of fans, that the franchise could grow intellectually. And no, I'm not demanding Shakespeare or Blade Runner from the franchise, just a natural growth of the property as a result of becoming more mainstream. I have faith that more mature/serious elements of the Transformers' story will appeal to the general public and the kids. Time and again they've both proven they serious sci-fi, and now we know the Transformers are the draw, otherwise this movie would never have been the success that it is...so why not bank on them rather than Michael Bay's toilet humor and explosions.

Michael Bay may not have raped my childhood, but I think he may have molested it. |

I think they got away with it in TF1, however the credibility of the decepticons as a serious fighting force was undermined in ROTF. Megatron and the Fallen are supposed to be two of the most badass transformers out there - and yet upgraded prime took them both out in under 5 minutes. The only reason megatron got the better of prime earlier in the movie was because it was 3 on 1 and prime was trying to protect sam. To me that just doesnt sit right.
I'm not sure about the other continuities - but in G1 it was always made clear that megatron was far more powerful than prime (but not as wise). The movie continuity seemed to be headed in this direction too with megatron being the military leader - whilst prime was the scientist/diplomat, but it all seems to have gone horribly wrong. |

What bothered me even more was the how the Fallen was just pushed into the storyline but didn't really contribute much but some "scary" one-liners and completely failing in battle against OP.
Make Megatron the real leader and supreme baddy, like in the first movie, and don't have him crawling around being all emo because his master his dead. That's what I probably hated most of RoTF; neutered Megatron. If the Fallen had been truly awesome and badass or Megatron had some back-up plan to take over from him I could have swallowed it but this was just really bad.
As for the Autobots, show why we should see them as the good guys. Yes it's cool that they can kick some serious ass but do they really need bad-ass one-liners in battle like they enjoy taking down others?
Also seriously cut down on the toilet-humor. It's okay to have it in a movie like this or else it would be far too dark for a regular audience but every damn five minutes just ruins it to the point that you can't take anything serious.
Less humans; I never ever liked the human characters in TF's. They do serve a purpose but that is mostly as an introduction "wow big-ass giant robots", after that the characters simply aren't interesting anymore or become plain damn annoying. Maybe that's just me though... |

"...Make sure he's really dead." the 911 operator said. Next, a gunshot was heard and the caller said:"Yeah, he's dead."

. | i'm happy letting that slide, because the stakes were higher for Prime. He was protecting his friend, and in turn the whole human race. Megatron just wants some power. The Fallen wasn't exactly "breathing down his neck". Quote: |
