Collection Count: not enough :)
I'm going to guess it should go over the 60% drop off.

The length of the film might have people saying I'll just wait to see it again on DVD so I can pause the film instead of seeing it again in the theater.

Word of mouth hasn't been all that good.

You've got an Ice Age movie coming out to appeal to the little kids while you have Public Enemies to appeal to the adults. So that hurts the draw from two demographics.

Plus the public this summer has been fairly quick to move on from event films. It's like very little this year is grabbing hold and not letting go.

I honestly dont know. I should look that up on boxofficemojo. I can't imagine #2 staying as long. If it drops anything like some are expecting and others are hoping, its going to show the true quality of the film I think. And frankly thats not very good (going by what everyone has said about it). #2 actually makes #1 look better and better.... O_O

On the Friday to Sunday timeframe, Bay's flick have not gone below at 50% drop off rate when the norm seems to be 55%- 65%.

Mixed word of mouth, overlong, and I suspect enough parents to warn away other parents over the sexual content.

Add in the overinflated opening box, and the second weekend is bound to be a huge crash. Not 70%, but at least 60%.

i think it will drop to about 35% to 45% of the total from this 5 day weekend (which will prob be 195 to 200 mil). i think the audience's reactions will be more of a factor as to how the second week will do.

just have to wait till next monday to see the official results.
I don't believe they factor in the Wednesday and Thursday totals in the 2nd weekend drop.

What word of mouth crap is this? Is it anecdotal or data-based?

According to internal studio data, word of mouth is awesome. Movies with bad word of mouth don't even come close to making the kind of money this movie made this weekend.

What???

This movie has proved that film critic reviews DON'T MATTER!! They've had no impact whatsoever. Zero. Nada. This movie is bulletproof. When was the last time a movie with a 22% rating at RT poises itself to be one of the top movies of all time?
