You misread the thread - or I suppose you just read the title. What I meant was that he failed to do what his boss tasked him to, whether catching Sam or helping out in the fight.

 

In all fairness he was only as incompetent and ineffective as the rest of the Decepticons in the movie. Not like any of the other Decepticons actually did anything useful except take out a few of the nameless human extras in the film.

Although I do hate movie Starscream even more now because he couldn't kill Skidmark and Buttflap when he had the drop on them. If he had taken out Malibu's Most Wanted Jar Jar one and two then Starscream would have been one of my butt ugly robot heroes like Waspinator, Inferno, and Quickstrike.

 

Man.. SS had awesome actions in TF1 ! ^ and to Ash ; he looks great. The design is NOT the problem  

Absolute WASTE of screentime in ROTF. Breakaway SHOULD have been in ROTF to give it the much needed dogfight.

But no... Bay just give us more lame splosions in a desert.

about the Megatron - SS G1-ish interaction. Gee.. it was executed as a fairly lame token gift. Can't believe how some of you fell for that so easily. Especially, when you see how Megatron is the Fallen's little b1tch in the movie.

So, you're not allowed to dislike nerfed Starscream in ROTF because he experienced character derailment to bring him in line with previous continuities. BUT you have to accept how psychotic Optimus became in ROTF, because this is a different continuity to other franchises?

people seem to forget what SS can do............remember the first movie anyone?
1)He blew up the power generators keeping megs frozen
2)blew bumblebees legs off
3)took out the helicoptor that was going to take the allspark.
4)took out 4 or 5 F22's.
5)took out ratchet and ironhide.

ROTF he might not of done much but he did more then any con in the first movie.

3rd movie will be when we see SS take a cheap shot at megatron.
also if he has to die let it be at the hands of megatron not a autobot

 

Oh yeah, what was the point in Ratchet in this film. What did he actually do?

 

I can't lie, it felt good seing the G1 interaction but yeah, LAME GIFT. It was as one dimensional as you can get. Just thrown in there as a gift, without really developing or fitting into the larger picture.

 

Rather have the G1ish intereaction in ROTF then have Starscream only say 2 lines in TF1.

Also, what's with everyone saying Megatron acted like the Fallen's bitch? Hell, Galvatron was the same in the G1 movie with Unicron and I didn't see any complaints about that.

 

I was just playing ROTF and Megatron told Starscream that he was just cannon fodder!! LOL

 

i was just playing w/ megs and SS too! i made megatron have starscream on a leash.

 

Galvatron was forced into servitude during the movie. He hated every moment of it and plotted against Unicron. He had no loyalty to him.

 

lets not forget that the fallen manipulated megatron. megs may have only been the fallens bitch bcuz of brainwashing. or maybe megs saw the fallen as a key to ultimate power and more and megs would send him to oblivian later. but who really knows, right?

 

The bottom line for me is that my favorite movie character (Megatron) survived and the Fallen bit the dust instead. So I'm happy. I'm looking forward to seeing Megatron shine in the next movie.
