I'm happy with ROTF.....I feel like the writers and Michael Bay gave us as fans exactly what we were looking for in a TF movie. They corrected some of the things that we complained about in the first movie and yet, some of us still complain:

Prime as an ass-kicking Autobot leader and not a pansy? CHECK

More Megatron and Starscream G1-esque back-and-forth banter? CHECK

Less human related bullshit and more robot-time? CHECK

More robot-on-robot violence and war scenes? CHECK

    More robots in general? CHECK.

More of TF-mythology based story? CHECK

I LOVED this movie. Sure it wasn't as good as the first one but, it was still good nonetheless. It was an action summer blockbuster about two sides of warring robots kicking the ever-loving shit out of each other.

It was like a LIVE-action G1 episode (complete with G1-esque plot holes.) and I still loved it anyway. I loved Skids, Mudlap and Wheelie and even Jetfire.

What were some of the critics expecting? Hamlet, Macbeth, or Romeo and Juliet with giant freaking robots in it?

For those of you who hated it, be careful what you wish for because that's what alot of you got (see list above) and you still weren't happy with it.

    Less human related bullshit...

This I could argue against, but other than that, you nailed it.

    Riiiight ...

And to answer your question, no Macbeth was necessary, just decent story and interesting characters.

Well, the movie just hit the theaters so we're all giving our two cents. Don't worry, it will (mostly) die after a while.

IMO this is a seperate subject. Fans complained about certain aspects of the 1st movie, writers took our feedback, and adjusted the story of ROTF to basically everything we complained about in the 2007 movie and asked for in this one.

And yet as a fanbase, there's still far too many of us who aren't happy IMO.

you can never satisfy the fandom. they will always find cracks in the franchise and turn them into over-hyped topics. it's what fans can do to keep the franchise alive and diverse... if we loved everything we would soon lose interest in everything, so discourse must be present for the TF Public to continue on its way. though sometimes it will be quite annoying to deal with it's a fact of life

I liked the movie, its just I could have done without the humping scenes. I just felt it was unnecessary and out of place. And Devastator's balls also. And even though I didn't hate them quite as much as I thought I would, the Twins also lame imo. Other than that I really enjoyed it though.

If there's one constant in the universe, its that fans will complain about any and everything.

It's more constant than the speed of light.

I asked for a better plot because the first one was bad. What happened was a worse plot than even the first one, if that was even possible. You might have gotten what you wanted, but not everyone did. Can you not respect those who were not happy and let them express their opinion stating so?

So we wanted robot balls, wheelie humping, dog humping, minstrel humor, pot humor, and John Turturro's ass? I don't remember fans asking for that.

The things you listed probably took up about 5 minutes of the movie MAX and that's overestimating. They didn't make up the movie as a whole and IMO aren't the main issues that people are complaining about.

Gross-out humor or not, almost every Sci-Fi action adventure movie has it's serious moments and has plenty of comedy as well. See Star Wars, Star Trek etc. as examples. All of them have some humor to them.......and some of it is off the wall and some isn't. I personally thought those issues you listed were funny but, that isn't what this thread is about.

your so right man. they gave us what we wanted. and i for one loved it. it was just the right mix of human /bot relation and not that much of a love story like the first. keep this going for the 3rd. I loved how the military & bots worked together.

I agree with everything you said. Most importantly though Prime kicked ass and it was like a live-action G1 episode!

    I'm a fan and I didn't get given what I wanted.

Does this give me complaining rights, or is my opinion wrong?

The question is: What then do we want for TF3?

    Just new robots?

YEs we did get what we asked for, but maybe this time we should ask for less HUMOR.

And also, if they hyped everyone up about the Constructicons, we should expect to see the Constructicons as who they are, not movie extras that you notice in the background, they form Devastator for goodness sakes.

    Absolutely!!!

Constructicons are ROBOTS that transform down into vehicles , that then merge together. . . .not vehicles just pulling up next to each other and just connecting.

I also wish they had backed the camera up and let us see more of the transformation of Devs.

And did Overload make up the face?

But the movie would had been better without this "comedy" and the whole you said you love me first "plot". They only added distractions to the story. Subtle comedy is the best. I agree can't be to serious with an entertainment movie but the comedy can be subtle.

I came hear curious to see what the real fans of transformers thought about this movie. I for one have never really been a fan of transformers gorwing up, never had anything against it just never watched it. I just have to say that this second movie is a huge pile of crap. I KNOW I AM TOTALLY TROLLING but man I am sorry. I enjoyed the first movie for what it was, but this movie had none of that. First Bay and his spinning camera technique was totally distracting and didnt add to any of the scenes it was added too. You STILL cant enjoy the robot fights because of Bays horrible compositions and camera angles. There is so much fuckin going on and the angels to help communicate the fight scenes clearly that I just couldnt figure it out. OH ALSO! I love hoe they dont re introduce you to the autobots and deceptacons in the new movie. Helll you honestly wouldn't know Arcee was in the movie, with her 1 amazing line. I am just blown away with the quality of this film.
