Ratchet's awesome. Yeah, Ratchet rebuilt Bumblebee's legs from scrap, he helped combine Jetfire and Prime, and he DID fix Bumblee's voice. The only reason he couldn't save Jazz was because he can't bring DEAD people back to life. He's not a God. That's pretty good considering he's a medic, not a doctor.

He kicks more ass than he saves, though.

firstly, if you remember, BB could speak after Ratchet's laser worked it's magic. I don't know why the writers chose not to have him speak in rotf.

Ratchet healed BB's legs aswell because you see him in car mode as if he was brand new, same with a tire that was blown off of ironhide in the final battle when blackout shot that car at Ironhide.

Jazz could not be brought back to life because, let's face it, who could survive being ripped in two?

Scapel brought Megatron back because, A, He had the allspark shard with him, and B, sacrifised Scrapper for parts.

 

Ratchet is useless because he has been saving up all of his intense awesomeness for the ROTF game, and by gum he is astounding  

 

If I remember correctly, in the novel adaptation Ratchet diagnoses Prime as not dead but in a stasis lock, and says he would need time to heal. I would check for sure but I don't have my book with me. Anyone else recall for sure?

 

I love Ratchet, but yeah, his portrayal thus far has been lacking.

Anyways, Jazz and Prime are bad points- both were dead before he could do anything.

He's too big to operate on an organic safely... and the Doctor didn't exactly do it safely.

I just wish that they would focus on the useful characters, besides the humans and Prime (cuz they're useful)!!

 

It's pretty much canon by now that Ratchet stole his diplom.

 

Comparing Ratchets explains why I like(d) Animated more than the Movie universe in a nutshell. Does Movie Ratchet even do that much doctoring anyway? (I didn't see ROTF and didn't pay attention to most of the thread here so as not to be spoiled)

I am not a Movieverse Hater, mind you...but it's no secret that the characters are better defined in TFA. A post elsewhere reminds me how much I miss that show already. The movies being around is perfectly good, of course, but I wish TFA would continue so there's variety for us to choose from. But that's for another board...
