http://occasionalsuperheroine.blogspot.com/2009/06/transformers-2-reviews.html "It really boils down to that; "Revenge of the Fallen" sells soulless to those who buy soulless. It's not shitty filmmaking; it's supply and demand." The sad thing is it's all true.
from huffington post: "every single human character must be forced to staple their mouths shut, give one another painful nipple twists, and then jump in unison out of a flying plane without a parachute landing on a heaping pile of broken glass." QFT!
Perhaps the greatest. io9 - Michael Bay Finally Made An Art Movie - Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
This is what I'm worried about. If ROTF is more successful than the first movie, Hasbro will think that all people care about are robots beating the crap out of each other. And maybe that's profitable, but it's an insult to the franchise that has continued to resonate for 25 years because of its memorable characters. The franchise is called "Transformers," not "Mindless Robots Beating Each Other Up." If I recall, that's like every other generic robot story that hasn't proved nearly as successful. I'm going to be very sad if all future Transformers series are about soulless robots.
Here's another. I think there's one more I need to dig up, too. http://nedroid.com/imagesb/transformers2.jpg
