Seriously this was the only part of the entire movie that pissed me off (Aside from my General dislike for the Movie Bot's overall look).

So I say it here and now Do the right thing Mr. Bay and Vocode Welker's voice to make Soundwave sound like himself

I know fat chance but this is bigger than a subtitled name being wrong.

 

Maybe his voice sounds like that in space and when he transforms to robot mode his voice becomes more like were used to. Yeah I like that delusion, I'll keep it.

Also I didnt notice the dr. Claw thing till you said it so thanks for spreading your pain

It worked much better than the vocorder IMO and I think people are just nitpicking at things now.

 

Seriously what was wrong with his voice? Maybe I do need my ears checked because it seemed to me that all of his lines were delivered well and suitably menacingly.

 

I guess the point becomes then why have Welker do it at all then. Anyone could have done a voice like that. Instead of a unique voice he's just another growling Decpticon.

I'm on shin gouki's side on this one. I was expecting Soundwave's g1'esque voice because that was the whole reason for Welker.

 

Exactly. Why get Welker and not Vocode the voice. You could have saved the money and had Hugo do the voice if that's the sound you wanted.

 

I didnt see anything wrong with his voice. Are people whinning because he didnt sound like a 1980's broken tape deck. What did people expect from bay. Hes not copying the tv show this is his version, live action. Im glad he didnt sound like the original, but i think i would of chose something other then Dr. Claw.

 

I liked Soundwave's voice. Nothing wrong with it at all IMO.

 

I suppose Shin-Gouki could just dub some Soundwave lines from the G1 cartoon into the movie.

And also pretend that Soundwave is actually a boom box attached to the satellite.

 

Soundwaves voice is iconic as Primes, megatrons, and starscreams I see no problem with wanting it to sound like that. I wouldnt get pissed over it though

 

I can see why people are upset, but I don't see what's wrong with the voice. So it's not exactly the same, at least they actually let Welker do the part. The reply will only be "it's not G1 so it doesn't have to be the same" from the film-makers anyway.

I was making a request for what appeared to me to be an oversight on the part of the makers of the film.

 

Soundwave's voice is way more iconic than Prime, Megatron, and Starscream's. In just about every iteration his voice has been similar. The same can't really be said for the others.
