I just got back from seeing ROTF. It was truly epic, awesome etc. But, there have been something bugging me ever since I walked out of the Theater... Did anyone else have/had a feeling of deflation? Like it didn't top the first film? In my opinion, I think it was just the massive amount of plotholes/NO ONE EXPLAINING ANYTHING bothering me but... meh.
in my opinion very few sequels can top the first one... and yes i think this one did, hell the fight scene in the woods did all on its own lol
Yes, there are plotholes and a few things bothering me, but this movie is definitely better then the first movie from beginning 'till end. In my oppinion ofcourse.
its wierd the rollercoaster ride you are on. ITS AWESOME AND EPIC buuuttttt..... the movie was kinda bad .lol I really got that out of the first film. I thought it was pretty great all the way up to when the big ending started to happen. The horrible jokes the convenient plot twists. Bay has a way of really cheesing things up and leave no explanations why. Its the kinda film only a crazed TF fan could love.
Wow, the movie really sucks and waste of time. But it was better then the first. I kind of liked it. Great
I enjoyed it alot even with it's flaws. The flaws were very small but easily forgivable for the sake of a good movie. The money spent was well worth it. I feel the same way about this movie like I did with the first movie. I was satisfied, ok plot, ok acting, MIND BLOWING CGI ACTION! The transformer fan in me was satisfied to the point of GEEKgasm, the simple movie goer in me was satisfied just enough to see this movie twice. Expect the 2-disc collectors edition on my shelf
Just got back from it and to me it was like a Story thrown together at the last minute to show a bunch of robots. Very little depth to the show. Thank God there is a break for 2 years to maybe freshen up some ideas for an actual story.
I had the same feeling walking out of the theater, but as I've thought about it at the office today, I'm excited as well. Yeah, there are plotholes, but we all knew that if we had seen spoilers ahead of time. There are things I'd want to see more of, but if I got what I wanted someone would be pissed that their favorite bit was left out for mine. I think as we see it a second time (and if we're posting on this board we will, won't we?) it will be better, and like someone said we'll just enjoy watching robots smash each other up. And with a break for a few years, the plot should be really solid for number 3.
for the sake of a good movie? ROTF is a HORRIBLE MOVIE. As a summer time pop corn flick it is good, but it has no substance, the film as a movie is horrible...no explaination for anything, plot points are a mess, nothing flows, the pacing is actually TOO fast. As a movie ROTF fails miserably. As an action summer time pop corn flick it worked.
only problem for me (other than Simmons without pants) was that the story was simple-the Decepticons want energy to make an army, Autobots are trying to protect earth. but the story kinda took a back seat. i actually like that the action mostly dominated the movie over the story, but i wish there had been more meat to the story.
I can see a lot more effort was put into a more solid plot, especially in teh second half where it became almost entirely plot-driven with little action until the climax battle. The only plothole that stuck was what happened to the twins. Are we to assume they died fighting Devastator? We never saw them again. I hope not. I loved them. Deffinatelt topped the first one. The first one, IMO, largely got a free-pass because it was the first live-action Transformers movie, wheras this was awesome because it was just well-done. (not perfect, but very good)
I loved the movie. My biggest flaw is how some of the bots just seem to disappear at times. For example, after SS rips the roof off the house and shoots at Sam and Mikaela as they jump off the roof. They get up and keep running yet SS and Scrapper just seem to vanish and don't chase them anymore. BUT, nonetheless it was an EPIC movie with tons of stuff being blown up and big, nasty robots beating the hell out of each other. Good enough for me!
I enjoyed it enough. I'm the kind of person who won't think about a plot hole when it happens until I read posts like the ones here and realize it. I enjoyed the movie, I could follow the plot pretty clearly, and it worked together in the end.
