I'm utterly amazed. I defend the movie from people who don't like it for stupid reasons where as you don't give a shit about what other people think and just constantly post "FUCK BAY!" in any movie thread, no matter the topic.

By stupid I mean minor things. Look at the Devastator ball joke. It's only 5 seconds long yet people are treating it like it's a subplot that will ruin the movie.

Some people have a problem with the robot designs, some with the personality development. That's a reasonable problem. But if your solution is to have a detailed backstory for about 22 characters that appear in the movie or to have them look just like their G1 counterparts, then your not thinking logically.

That's what I mean by stupid.

I like this thread, it is full of so much lulzworthy content.

 

Devastator's balls are a throw away sight gag. This is cool when it is just a pair of $.99 spray painted ping pong balls hot glued onto a stuntman costume for a shot that takes 10 seconds to film.

But what makes this stupid is when ILM has a guy model the balls, another gives the balls texture (bump, diffuse, and specular maps), then another has to rigg them to the model, another animates them, tons of computers then take days to render them, and a final guy has to composit all sorts of renderings together.

End result Michael Bay gives you a $3 five second throw away joke that ends up costing half a million dollars or more. You are insulting my intelligence when asking that I be impressed by this.

 

Jeez guys, let it go.

If some people have gripes with the movie, don't like it, or just plain hate it, LET THEM. Everyone's allowed to have an opinion. But let's not fight about. Fighting over how good a movie is is stupid.

But don't try to force your opinion on the other members. If you hate the movie, don't try to convince everyone else to hate it. If you love it, you don't have to convince everyone that it's great. Let people form their own opinions.

Don't start fights with other people. Just because their opinion is different from yours doesn't mean you have to "fix" them. Let them think what they want.

Transformers is not going to be The Dark Knight. Maybe similar terms of box-office success, but not in characterisation and deep storytelling. The sooner we can get over the fact that Transformers won't be a cinematic masterpiece (aside from the eye-candy), the sooner we can stop fighting and have a nice, happy fandom.

I guess if there is anything to really hate on it's how people hate on each other over a darn movie. Both sides because a lot of hate and insulting goes back and forth between both camps.

Love the movie, hate the movie, it's still just a movie. And it's still just one part of Transformers. Like anything else Transformers it will have it's time in the sun and then one day Transformers will move on to something else.
