*long post ahead*

I am rather infamous for my hatred of Michael Bays Transformers. My hate I think in some areas is almost legendary. I bought me a ban from the movie board around the time T1 came out actually. I loathed and despised everything about the then new project and was VERY outspoken about it.

When filming of T2 began I went out of my way to stay away. I didn't want to know anything about it at all. I had heard some rumors though; the one about Arcee (I wont give spoilers but Im sure most know it anyway), The Fallen (I haven't followed most of the TF comics in the past few years so I knew the name and he was old and that was about it), I heard the release date got moved and I knew that (I don't know how I found this out LOL)....and I had also heard the designs were redone a bit. I totally scoffed at that rumor.

See, the really weak script in T1 not withstanding, it was the designs that were the biggest problem with me. Its not that I wanted everything to stay the same as some think G1 purists want (I am that). No, I welcomed change and upgrading and making them 'real'. But I totally balked at the direction it was taken and to the extremes it was taken. I think that was the biggest thing I had against the whole movie project...

So, the other night I IM a TF fan friend I haven't talked to in months. Before its over it becomes a pro-bay/anti-bay face off....then he shows me a picture of Longhaul. Woah...it looks tight. I like it...then he says that fan(?) was hired and proceeds to show me other pics....

Each pic I see I like (Sides rocks). He shows me the tweaked Megatron... WOW... for me at least I could tell it WAS MEGATRON. Then..he shows me Starscream...I still have issues with it but considering the tweak had to stay within that design since it was already out in T1...all things considered I....liked it. Nitti (sp) is my hero...

So now I'm trying to catch up on everything regarding T2. I was just given a brief run down of some of it in IM a bit ago (thanks Fwiffo). I still don't know if I'm going to go pay to watch it (yea I watched T1 bootleg a total of 2 times and was quite proud of that) but.....I....I like what I see now, and accept what cant be changed since it was tweaked in a way to be acceptable.

Ive watched the three 31 second TV bits. Fate is my fav and it gave me chills at one part. I am kind of looking forward to this movie now...before I wanted nothing to do with it, now I want to know all about it.

So bring on the tidbits of info, spoilers, pictures. I wanna see it all.

Lastly, I stand by everything Ive ever said past and present and will not hide myself through various IDs.....this confession and owning up comes to you from;

i was very skeptical with the first one. being a g1 guy i was scared to death but i actually loved the first one and i am pretty sure the second one will rock! go see it on the bigscreen dude 

 

well going on what we have found out since ppl saw the first screening.
You will probally be more angry at ROTF then the first movie. keen on another ban?

Yea Ive been thinking of seeing it on the big screen but I'm not going to fight to see it opening week for sure. I honestly don't care to watch the 1st one ever again though to be honest.   Though I gotta admit there were a few small bits in the first one that was good.

All respect to the great Frank Welker but I love Weaving as Megatron. I really like Ratchet and Ironhides alternate modes. There were a couple of small scenes in the first one I liked. When Ratchet hit the power lines, when OP and uhm... whoever he was fighting flipped off (I'm sorry I really couldn't make anything out of the other mech) the overpass and when Megatron flicked the human away (wasnt that Bay in his 'cameo' shot BTW?).....that was about it. LOL

Oh don't get me wrong, I doubt I will ever like Michael Bay...I still dislike the way hes treated this fandom and the disrespect he blatantly showed the source material for the first movie at least. But I have seen where some things have been 'fixed' to a point. I can accept it now. As for ROTF being worse then the 1st one? A friend of mine went to one of the first screenings and gave me a quick review that was pretty much what I figured it would be. I can't see ROTF being /worse/ then the first one but what have you heard? Please tell me so I can be prepared!

Oh and as for up for another ban? LOL I blew through here a few months ago trolling Orcis thread (I was bored one night) and it got me banned from that thread... was really surprised it didnt get me banned from the whole board actually...but than again we aren't dealing with Bob(ette) from the official movie board either....  

Apology accepted, transeeker. I was a real hellion there I know. I was just so incensed at what I was seeing and kept putting my foot in my mouth trying to explain why and the what for, and then the rebuttals back at me which got me even madder LOL and it just snowballed from there. LOL

I honestly have NOT kept up with anything for T2... I have no clue whats considered the good the bad and the ugly with it. I'd like to know.

 

Well, if you're like me (and be glad that you're not) and read the spoilers, you might be surprised at what you'll expect for Revenge of the Fallen.

 

Mmmm I dont mind spoilers at all. Actually I wanna know as much as I can before I go watch it...wow I still can't believe I want to watch this now. LOL A couple friends of mine on IM are like 'Who are you? Wheres (bayformer-hating) Starscream?'

Oh what is the general consensus on Ravage? I didn't like it at all when I first saw it but after a few more pics and stuff it grew on me. And as Ive said since then, 'maybe that Ravage can finally put an end to all the fangirl fluff about the 'cute wittle kitty...'

 

yeah i remember bay saying something to the effect of that our childhood wasent as good as we remember. mb dident see the girlfriends i had in juniorhigh 

 

I read the spoilers, but I try to go in with no expectations. As long as I like it just as much or more then the first movie, all will be good.

 

Yea I remember hearing about Bay's comment on that. I also remember reading where when Hasbro sent him copies of the 86 movie and/or eps to watch he couldn't sit through 5 minutes of it before he got up laughing about 'Im suppose to make a movie from this?' and walked out. I also remember him questioning rather snidely about why fans liked the 'boxed' designs so much. Hes a real piece of work I will grant you that.

And uhm.. Im a female fan so I didn't have GFs in jr. high LOL Had some nice BOYfriends though.  

Well the designs have been made liveable in my eyes so that right there will tell me that T2 will be better in my eyes. I also recently heard the cons got a lot more talk time in this one. Depending on the quality of the 'talk time' that will be a major plus in its favor for me. ^_^

i reccomend staying away from the boards until after you've seen the movie
that way you can go in with an open mind. sometimes i'm pretty sure we ruin it for ourselves being on here.

Yes I can agree. After all the shredding I went through (and dished out) by the time the movie came out.....that was the last thing I wanted to see.... In fact the only reason why I did was a neighbor got a bootleg (have no clue how cause he got it opening night) and begged me to watch it cause he knew nothing about TFs and knew I was a TF nutcase....so I did..... was not happy. LOL Then another friend asked me just to look at it objectively and I did for my second and last time... But yea, it did taint it totally for me with everything on the boards leading up to it. Then again, nothing could have gotten me to accept the designs for T1 ever.

No way!! /You/ got banned? O_O Hehe you know I could still crash that site if I wanted to with another account that was given to me some time ago *whistles innocently* (oh yea... I had people giving me their accounts when all that broke lose with bobettes 'set up')... I also saw where Bobette said she let me come back but she blocks pretty much all IP#s from my area so I don't see how she meant that.

Hehe its cool. Its hard to tell what 'flavor' someone is on the web unless they make a pointed gender based ID and I don't. Also I don't exactly speak to highly of some elements of the female TF fandom (my comment about ravage for example) so that might lead one to think I'm a guy. LOL I think yes, in some ways I have a tendency to like things about them that female fans would lean toward. The personalities and character interactions maybe? But Im also unique maybe (?) in that I don't like to see the violence dumbed down, smoothed over and everyone gets a happy ending either if you know what I mean. TFs are a bloody violent race and that's just part of what they are. Its one element of them you have to accept and you can't fanonize it away just because /you/ don't want it there....am I making any sense? ^_^

Soundwave made me laugh. He looks ok I guess... Im not that big of an SW fan but I wish I could be a fly on the wall around some SW fans about his redesign...hes a chopper or a jet now isnt he? I remember when the idea of him being a chopper was brought up way back in the beginning. I deep down thought that was a very cool retake on him but a lot hated it. I think it was scrapped? I see SW got a bit of a nod to his G1 helm. Meh, its ok...he still looks humorous to me.  

Sideswipe is so Bad ass. Glad it was Sides and not Sunstreaker that was picked. Sunstreaker was always annoying IMO
