Well, AFAIK this hasn't been formally stated.
Demolishor is seen getting his head cut off in the ShoWest footage.
Credit goes to user 'scalan15' for suggesting it.
Here's the proof.

Here's the mysterious 'exploding thing' scene from the ShoWest footage.
The head is upside down, and the fireball is where Demolishor's neck would attach to it.  |

I presume it's Prime that decaps him. If so, we're certainly getting more Optimus kicking ass this time around.  | |

If it is Prime that decapitates him (and I hope it is) then thank goodness. No more Prime getting slapped around by Megatron like a ragdoll like in the first film. From the trailers and the Showest stuff, even though he gets punted at one point, it looks like he's more of a badass this time around.
