First off, credit goes to Ravenxl7 of the boards. In the shot in which we thought was Starscream shooting at Sam and Mikaela as they hop rooftops and then get attacked by Scrapper, look again. Starscream has a rather bluish tint to him. It looks a little too deep to be just lighting. Could it be his fellow Seeker? The movie designers aren't going to do a repaint. Repaints are done by Hasbro to milk as much money out of one mold as possible. They are boring and the characters they represent will never be as interesting to me if they don't have their own transformation and look.
Im pretty sure its Starscream your referring too in the trailer. But i personally would love to see some of the other seekers in the film. Adding Thundercracker with Starscream would be awesome!!
Well if this is the final fight in Egypt at the end, they should have scanned something by now. Unless protoforms come at the end of the movie. Maybe the fact that they look similar is that they have alike alt modes. . . . ie The Seekers??? Forgot to add tho that I think it's Starscream. I think a different jet con would have different weapons. SS had that 6 missle launcher in the 1st movie
If they're showing up in the heat of the battle just to be grunts, what need do they have for a disguise?

Looks like the same bot at the end of the trailer reaching his hand towards the camera. Maybe that means he will have somewhat of a role.
Well, they aren't really repaints, are they? They are just generic grunts who will never be named and were probably thrown together by the CGI modelers (or maybe even a program drawing from a stock of body parts) to be killed off. I just don't think any character who is going to be named and be a character is going to just be another character's CG model with new paint.
why would they have other bots that look identicle to SS. There isint even confirmation there in the movie could just be airforce jets we see over the pyramids.
