Well, somebody said that Alice had a Frenzy-esk interior (hey, maybe Rumble? :D ), so I'm thinking maybe a sorta Barricade/Frenzy thing for Sideways/Alice. Though if it is it's own robot, that would be awesome. Think Terminator :bay

Here's the short answer: The Japanese versions of the Pretenders (optionally) used mass-shifting to disguise themselves as humanoids. (They also wore street clothing, and changed into their humanoid 'space armor' superhero-style, but that's another story.) Since the inner robots are somewhere between the size of the 1984 Autobot Cars (Hound, Jazz) and smaller ones such as Bumblebee and Rumble, this is not a huge jump in size. Since you're starting with a human-sized Rumble/Frenzy-esque bot, "human girl mode" will not be a huge change in size.

Also, "Alice" changes mechanically into robot mode (think Beast Wars), as opposed to jettisoning/emerging from an outer shell, or by de-activating some sort of holomatter.
If I had to design a toy Alice, I'd go with the tried-and-true 1988 method. Cook up a "hot chick" Pretender shell with limited articulation (sorry new collectors), and install a Legends (or scout) Class inner robot with a passable transformation into ... something, be it a sports car (she loves Camaroes), or some beast mode that makes use of her Scorponok-like tail and tongue that toes the line between seductive and [thoroughly terrorized girl scream]. Possible Decepticon names? Tailgate, or Cheshire. Either way, it'd be sweet if the outer shell was size-consistent with Starscream & Landmine's or Stranglehold & Bludgeon's.

I'm not entirely convinced by the Pretender thing either. She seems far too removed from the film. Plus, I can't remember a single reference to her by the Decepticons. I'm sure I will be corrected though.

None of the Decepticons made a reference to her. Again, I do believe that was keep the general audience, or any TF-Fan who didn't bother to delve further into ROTF prior to the film's actual events, from connecting her with them until that bedroom scene.

Its not a "Zombie Thread", genius, if its still a relevant conversation, or has already been ressurected by someone, (Cybertronian), that's not me, posting after the most recent post.

    Wow, take things personally much?

I should have known to stay out of the movie discussions - it's always personal *facepalm*

And that's why you throw insults and sarcasm around in response to a post about this being a zombie thread...because your serious? Hey, whatever works for you.

Sorry to raise up a stink; I just ran a search for "Pretender Alice" -- as in "I'd really like to see a toy version of her", and this was the most relevant thread. I'm just now seeing the March posting dates. I thought this had been started after the movie had premiered.

Toy Discussion is a better place to talk about a toy you'd like to see anyway. Feel free to start one there.
