wow.. imagine walking out of the train station in liverpool on the way to work and seeing this on the building in front of you YouTube - Giant spider in Liverpool YouTube - La Princess Liverpool 08 Albert Dock Part 1 YouTube - La Princess Liverpool 08 Albert Dock Part 2
Doesn't that kinda ruin the entire point of a disguise if it's a giant fucking spider in a city?? It worked in BWs well because there weren't any humans(at least not any smart ones).
You're so off-balance here, I'm not even sure where you started going wrong. Dude, it's a giant mechanical spider. It's awesome. That's all there is to it.
But what about Animated? And all the other continuities besides Beast Wars that featured giant beast modes?
Good point. Though Skorpinok is a Decepticon and thus, might not care about hiding as much. Plus he was pretty stupid and not care to be in disguise(at least IIRC according to his and Blackouts Bio), even though he did pretty well at crawling through the sand unnoticed. But Blackarachnia has always been a Autobot deep down so why would she be running around as a gigantic spider that sticks out(especially in a city)?? The only time we have ever seen her running around in her spider alt in modern times is during Animated. I just can't see it working the same way as it did in that medium.
The problem with Skorpinok is it seems like no one was ever really clear on what his deal was. From being part of Blackouts copter mode, to emulating battlefield debris. The impression I got of him was he was hiding as part of Blackout and deployed to kill the witnesses. There was not supposed to be any survivors so it didn’t matter if he had an alt-mode to hide as.
Exactly why I'm thinking they gave him that alt mode. He was merely an assassin bot. I doubt they would have given him a skorpion form if he had a larger part in the story.
hmm i was thinking more along the lines of 'oo look they made a giant robot spider that looks like a movie-style transformer and made it walk around the city, how cool'
haha, that's awesome!! I'd love to see something like that in a Transformers movie actually. It looks threatening and very fitting for a Decepticon wreaking havoc in a city. Oh and it would be awesome to see it up close and in action. If I were you I'd definately go, Locustreign!
I saw a vid of it on the BBC news website last night - I was kinda hoping it would open fire on the crowd or impale a few people though.
That's wicked! I ant the TFs in the movieverse to remain hidden from public knowledge, and being a spider as an alt mode would ruin that, but I really want that in the movie!
If I came around a corner and saw that on a building I'd probably just stroke out right there on the spot! haha, really cool though.
