Enough with that, it s been said by GM that the car will indeed be in the movie but not a Transformer so stop speculating and move on!!!! Soundwave as a girly purple car... Give me a break....
Could the above maybe be the first real disinformation? I mean, just look at that car. It looks so amazing. It HAS to be a Transformer, right? I was very disappointed when I heard that the Volt was not going to be a Transformer, I still can't believe it.

That's old GM, not new GM. GM has turned a big corner on styling, quality, and keeping concepts dead on. How many decades will it take for people to GET this?

Well, it's not Soundwave without the vocoder, in my opinion. And IF they take the character's voice in that direction, why not give him a permanent faceplate? And what is there for him to emote? He's basically a blind follower of Megatron, and everything about him is more robotic than the rest of the bots. To truly get his personality right, you have to display as little emotion as possible. But will allow that to happen? I'm guessing YES actually. Remember; they tried to get Soundwave into Movie 1 TWICE, and passed because they didn't think they were doing the fan favorite justice. They aren't going to then give us some half-assed not-soundwave-looking bayformer and say "Here ya go! Thanks for waiting!" I'm expecting his design to be the most G1 accurate after Optimus Prime and Jazz.
I read somewhere that the Volt won't be used as a Transformer character on either side...and that it has only had one day of filming. I think I remember reading that it's just making it in a promo-type bullshit scene where you see one.... I don't know if that will end up true....but if that's the case...wtf?? I really don't want these movies being just one big Chevy commercial....and If that's the case then I think Hasbro should put their foot down... seriously though... Has anybody thought about that?...maybe GM signed a Autobot exclusive deal(meaning all Autobots had to be GM vehicles) for all three films. I hope not because honestly with the Audi R8 being in the movie...that means Volkswagen is on board...that also means to me that they should be able to use other Vehicle manufacturers from that umbrella such as Lamborghini, Bentley, and VW. I wonder what the deal really is with those cars not being included as Autobot characters....It seems to me that they should be able to make Sunstreaker and Sideswipe Lambos, I'm just confused as to why they wouldn't be doing it if GM didn't have some kind of Exclusive license over the Autobots right now... sorry to brain storm this for as long as I have...what do you guys think?
Actually, if my memory is correct, they tried at least three total times to put him into the first movie, but, as you said, decided not to because they couldn't do the character justice. Blackout, Frenzy, and Barricade were all supposed to have been Soundwave at one point or another. I personally can see them giving Soundwave a perminant face plate, to go along with the emotionless personality he'll more than likely have. I just hope his alt-mode fits him well, and is decently sized, so that he's at least as tall as Prime, if not taller. I really hope that doesn't happen. It'd make for a couple of interesting scenes, and an interesting toy, but as Soundwave in the movies, he deserves way more, imo. Now if it was just a little drone that he happens to control, I could handle that. It probably wouldn't ruin the entire movie for me, but I wouldn't be happy about it.
I heard because of a product placement deal with Apple he's going to be the newly redesigned iPod Nano.
LOL I'm not one that's prone to go to extremes, but if a tiny little nano transforms into a bot and says in Cybertronian "I am Soundwave! All hail Megatron!" I'm dumping my soda on the guy in front of me and walking out of the theater.
He's a combiner made up of all Apple's portable products and in a cross marking promotion they will sell limited edition blue Soundwave iPods.
Hmm...am I the only one getting an Animated Soundwave vibe from this? (the whole thing about his body being made up of different robotic devices). The one good thing I can see coming from this type of Soundwave, is that he'll have the music homage to the original. I just hope, that whatever they do with him, that it's the right thing for this incarnation of Soundwave.
