The only way we'd see that is if his spark made the leap from dying form, to someone's gun. Then he'd be stuck as a mini gun bot till he found a new body to get into.

Maybe the Cube could depolarize his spark like what happened to BM megatron sometime in the third movie or farther. But I don't see it happening in this movie at all.

No gratuitous mass shifting.

Personally, for now I think he ends up getting a tank form from Devastator's fallen form who's been buried with him. But later, who knows. It was rather stupid on humanities part to bury 3 bots of unknown origin and workings, one of which with the allspark embedded into him, into crushing depths of the ocean where nothing can monitor them. Heaven knows what may happen with all that tech buried near each other underpressure and with that mcguffin inside.

My eBay Items.
They've all gotta go!

I'd go with a self-propelled gun, probably the cancelled XM2001 Crusader. It's a one-off prototype, and I think it's also the biggest tank-like tracked vehicle the US Army has ever fielded, all of which would give bucket-head the uniqueness and presence he deserves. Using a six-inch howitzer (read, VBFG) rather than something like an M1 Abrams means you're combining the G2 "tank" with the artillery aspect that's been part of Megs since the beginning...

Alternatively, the ridiculously massive Nazi Panzer VIII Maus, designed by the same guy as the VW Bug.

Howitzer, Tank, Blackbird I think he might be sick of jets. I'll just wait for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009).

But a rocket would be awesome, goes along with the original weapon idea. Something reusable obviously. Something he could take down Starscream easily in. Perhaps a stolen goverment prototype?

As I've said before, a tank is the most appropriate alt. mode for him. However, if people want him to be airborne as well, he could be a triple-changer, (robot, tank, earth jet) or he could simply fly in robot mode with the tank as his ground disguise.
Nice, your fruit killing skills are remarkable.

JETT NOT TANK

Facetious references aside, I don't see why Megatron needs to have an Earth mode. I think that he'll still have a Cybertronian mode, but not the same as his jet mode from the first movie. Instead he'll be a "mutated" or "corrupted" form of that jet--not necessarily looking grotesque or monster-like, the best analogy would be Samus in the Varia Suit to Samus in the PED Suit at the beginning of Metroid Prime 3. Familiar but different, with an ever-present connotation of corruption from power overload, and according to the Allspark Power toys, the visual cue for Allspark energy is bright blue, which also happens to be the visual cue for Phazon energy in Metroid Prime.

I really missed that look in TF1. I never warmed to the design they came up with, it missed all the classic elements.
