Here is my speculation and theories on why Megatron IS “The Fallen”

With the new images of the repaint for Megatron shown recently, it got me thinking. Why was the ice changed to flames instead of just removed… Hmm.

So I check the wikipedia on “The Fallen”
Now I might be coming to conclusions here and completely wrong but here are the similarities between the current story of movie Megs and “The Fallen”

1.
Fallen: One of the original thirteen Transformers created by Primus, the robot who would become the Fallen betrayed his creator by siding with Primus's dark twin, the malevolent planet-eater, Unicron.
Megs: Megatron betrayed Optimus and in essence, The Cube (he’s creator) to dominate the universe.

2.
Fallen: The Fallen fell victim to the same fate as his master, sucked through a black hole into another dimension.
Megs: After his defeat, was thrown in the deepest darkest point in the ocean, essential a black hole. Wether he was still active and in stasis lock is anyone’s guess.

3.
Fallen: most of the images I can find from searching for the fallen has shown him with flames like some sort of god.
Megs: The recolour of the toy has flames shown

Like I said, I might be coming to conclusions here and completely wrong about all this, but I would like to see who else shares my speculation.

I have a feeling Megs maybe the Fallen. I know the IDW confirmed that a character named the Fallen or refered to as the Fallen is in the film but it just seems spotty to me.

 

I think the flames are ment to show when he gets bombarded on by the air force.

 

That actually makes a lot of sense. Seeing how these figures look like battle sets(since the feature characters that directly confronted eachother) it wouldn't be far fetch to figure that's what the flames are for.

Nothing new about the speculation, but despite reports of the IDW people reading the cripts and delcaring that the title actually refres to the fallen, I hope it's about Megatron making a comeback.

If megs ends up being the fallen that means prime and megs both have flames.

If the Fallen does come from megs in this movie I ll be waiting for the movie franchise to reformat nevermind the transformers.

For what seemed to be such a straight forward idea of putting transformers on the big screen this thing has gotten all sorts of convoluted.

 

These figures aren't from the next movie, they'll be based off scenes from the first movie. Megs will come with FB jazz and Prime will come with Bonecrusher, as they'll be battle 2-packs.

And the reason they didn't just "take off" the ice is because then he would need a new molded chest, shins and wings because without the ice pieces are missing. Hell his wings are ice. The flames are supposed to be him at his death scene, being bombarded with missles and sabot rounds and then having the all-spark jabbed into him.

 

The sequel may be titled "Revenge of the Fallen," but I don't think it has anything to do with The Fallen of TF: War Within comic fame. I think it's just a reference to the Decepticons who have been defeated in the first movie.

 

Yeah, I remember someone working on the movie (don't ask me to remember who) said that RotF was about a Transformer who had been defeated "coming back to settle a score" or some such. Which is tough to do (although not impossible) for a character who's not established yet. It's probably Megatron.

I think the real question is, will the FB Jazz that comes with Megatron-on-fire be retooled to separate at the waist?

Megatron is the fallen.

I hope it is The Fallen, in some form, because that means we'll get a kick ass leader toy of a giant flaming black space tank.

 

Megatron returns...as the FALLEN!
Megatron is fallen and gets back up again, super powerful(Galvatronish) or more evil, maybe somehow becoming the Fallen from the comics...
maybe the Allspark is involved. Not sure who would have a hand in it. Sector Seven? Starscream? accident?

or maybe..

The Fallen is a separate character.
Megatron might not return in this installment of the franchise. Maybe he will, The Fallen AND Megatron?(and Starscream and Soundwave and new Cons and Bots) Hmmmm....not too likely.
He(Megatron) returns, after the Fallen is dead(or turned into a plot device), a little down the road, probably in another sequel, or in a cliffhanger.
If(when) Megatron returns, I am ALMOST CERTAIN he will get himself an alt mode. Can't wait to see what he'll be.

There IS NO FALLEN. Everything is made up, there will be a different name for the movie, and there is a storyline nobody would have guessed of.

QFT. Frequently the simplest answer is the best one.

I still find it amusing that the abbreviation for the movie is "ROTF". If the movie's bad, a lot of fans will be Rolling On The Floor.

I also have a gut feeling TF2 may underperform compared with the first movie. I don't know why I feel that way and I certainly hope I'm wrong, but it's just a gut feeling for now. And I'm sure their are already critics gearing up to write a reviews with puns and jokes involving the "fallen".

I've generally been avoiding spoilers as I knew way too much going into the first one and already had preconceived notions and it nearly ruined the entertainment value of the movie for me.

I did that with the Star Wars Ep 1 too, and Jar-Jar just about killed my enjoyment of and appreciation for the entire franchise.

But all I really want is for Shockwave and Soundwave make it into TF2--no matter how altered and convoluted their appearances are from their G1 counterparts, I just want to see them in the movie kicking ass. And more of Starscream too.

I didn't like Megatron much in the first movie. His design was certainly very menacing, but he looked so far removed from his original version--or ANY version of Megatron to date--that I just didn't care for it. So whether or not he's "the fallen" I really don't care. Just give me Shockwave, Soundwave, and more of Starscream and I'll be happy.

 

I reckon The Fallen is Megs, why would Bay go and fish out a random character from War Within and put him in a $250 million movie?? it just seems a little weird.

I say expect Megs back along with a whole new slew of cons and bots and watch the pretty fireworks

In general for the ones who are interested, please read that thread and take your own opinion on it.

 

They simply aren't going to spend time introducing a backstory for a character that very few know or care about. People that saw the first know that Megs and company got their ass beat and fell. The fallen are the Cons and/or Megatron. As fans, we are reading too much into the title because The Fallen directly references a character. Don't set yourselves up for disappointment. Now if it turns out that it IS The Fallen, I'll eat crow, but yeah.
