Thanks! | I don't think so, since the Optimus image looks like one of the shots from the first campaign against a different background. |

Thanks! | An FBI agent thinks she's investigating an act of terrorism aboard a plane, but then discovers it's something a lot weirder, and the only people who can help her are an old Harvard professor who many consider to be as brilliant as Einstein but as nuts as Frankenstein, and his son, a shady rogue who is the only one who can really understand his father. Together, they figure out that what happened on the plane is part of a bigger series of strange events happening around the world... |

I hope you've had an interesting and informative time on the boards, getting to 'sound out' the fans as it were.
I have only one thing to ask, and that is, would you please consider--more importantly, please pass up the chain to others on the production staff this request that they consider--tapping Frank Welker for Megatron? I know I'm going to catch flak on the boards for asking, but the request is more important to me than how I'm taken here for making it. The man is a talented actor and is certainly capable of giving Megatron whatever feel you've established for him. The traditional voice of Megatron has just as much power as Optimus Prime's, and the first movie was missing a major element without him.
About ten years ago I wrote a serious essay discussing G1 Megatron's value as the main villain, and rather than spamming this thread I'll just give you a link: The Best at His Job
If you get time to read it, it might prove a useful "Cliff Notes" to G1; I know that in the past, new writers or contributors to what is Transformers didn't get the luxury of good references to G1. You wouldn't be the first person involved in a production that I've provided reference materials for. >
Again, you guys have gotta get Frank Welker on board! You don't know what you're missing!
And Long Live Megatron!

When writing the characters in the two factions, and pretty much the actions of the factions themselves, do you have the Decepticons percieving themselves as the the good guys, and the Autobots are the bad guys to them(something along the lines of evil being a point of view)? Or do you have the Decepticons knowing that they are evil, and not really careing what they do, they just want to destroy the Autobots and get the Allspark for themselves?
Thanks for the time,
Joe G1 Shockwave parts wanted. :) My collection, newer pics in mid of first page |

I think what fans tend to forget is most G1 voices (and indeed, most Transformers cartoon voices) were 'over the top' due to the medium they were in. By comparison the movie characters sound more subdued. |
