-airfox | Or I got thinking about it and in the first movie we saw that the Decepticons had holograms so unless the Autobots like standing out by being cars that drive themselves then the Autobots must also have holograms.
To get around the problem of looking like Knight Rider IDW had the holograms do the talking while the robots were in car mode. Thus a way to deliver more lines and get in more of the movie without having to pay for CGI just to say something. The holograms could even be cast to reflect something about the robots personality.
A while back someone suggested that Peter Cullen could be Prime's hologram as a fan nod and then he could just deliver his lines in a truck rather than a sound stage.
Ha ha, might could even do something weird like Bumblebee using a hologram that looks like Sam. |

do you know whether J.J. Abrams still has any clue what Lost is currently about? Rumor has it that he hasn't talked to Damon and Carlton in ages.
Looking for a complete Energon Sky Shadow (from Superion Maximus).
Offering: Binaltech Hound, Swindle, Ravage (Corvette), Skids.
Can buy in stores: Robot Heroes Tigatron/Inferno, Ricochet/Predaking.

First off, thanks for answering so many questions.
My question is this. How does the robot screen time in this one compare to the first? I'd say the robot screen time in this one was too short. This worked so well cause it built up the big reveal and the fight at the finish. But with the reveal gone, and the Transformers out in the public eye, that won't fly this time. How much more screen time and dialogue do they get, percentage wise? Ya know 20%, 50%?
Also, another question: Was the length of the transformation sequences something you guys wrote into the script? Any idea if the amount of time it takes a robot to transform will be shortened? If you have any influence in how they animate that, I would recommend you try and get the majority of the tranformations to take 3-5 seconds. Long transformations were cool for the first movie, but for the second, even casual viewers will begin to think, "hey, why don't they just wait for Optimus to be transforming and shoot him during that?" I imagine it'd save on CGI if long transformations were reserved for key moments or first time a character transforms. Plus it gives you the option of using the highly respected transformation sound without extra filler.
Think Barricade when he transformed to go chase Bumblebee. That was the coolest transformation in the movie to me. | A ton more screen time for the TF's in this sequel. Exactly as you said, the first movie was built around the premise of a mystery being revealed, which allowed us to hide the robots. In the sequel, we have a different premise that maximizes them.
We did write the Transformations into the first one to be very slow, based on a suggestion from Steven Spielberg that we really take our time describing it. Won't necessarily be the case next time. |

If you had the chance to make any movie you wanted, with the cast you wanted, what would it be and who would you cast in it?
Also are you aware of any official stuff in the 'release' pipelines for TF: ROTF?
I have to admit that, despite at least one viewing of TF: ROTF will definately be undertaken by me, the lack of any official infomation has taken a tiny amount of shine off the movie for me.
Thank you for taking time to read our comments Sir and i hope to be back here for TF:3 |

Buzzbeak Join Date: Jul 2002 Posts: 13,745 Location: North Bay Collection Count: More then I need News Credits: 1 | There has been talk that there will be more (if not a lot more) Transformers in this movie. I’m a little concerned it could end up like the X-Men movies with to much of a good thing. Cramming characters in to make fans happy and in turn diluting said characters. So the question! Can you squelch my fears of this?

I know Soundwave is confirmed and Jet/Skyfire but any other G1 characters like Shockwave/Ravage/Buzzsaw and or Laserbeak and or Brawn or Trailbreaker?
You really can't have Soundwave without Laserbeak/Ravage it's like his calling card.
And do you think Megatron will come back or are we going to see Galvatron?
And even though I know it won't happen I'd love to see down the road my all time favorite deceps the combaticon's...maybe wishful thinking
Thanks! |
