I will most likely get bashed for saying that but I am speaking for alot of people when i say that. | well it's not logical really
the autobots in the first movie scanned vehicles because it was the most feasible thing to do after presumable learning about earth via the world wibe web. the idea of them scanning these things is to disguise themselves as best possible, so they can stealth around and do what they need to do. scanning a t-rex skeleton would not make sense because what would be scanned is the mode they would take, and i'm pretty sure a t rex skeleton isn't going to be much of a disguise, let alone a complete t-rex. scenes like sam's happy time are good to emphasize just how out of place the transformers are in our world, where parents will ask stupid questions like that and in general the world lives in a relaxed and sometimes joking way.
this isn't a bash, i'm just making a logical counter-argument

Now for a Transformers related question-
If you could have included any other robot character into the first movie, who would you have included and why? | Nothing? Quote:

Here's a question relating to the Dinobot discussion. In the Alternators toy line Grimlock was a Mustang. I think a lot of fans accepted it. The fans keep saying it's about the characters and their personalities. Was it ever considered to change the alt mode of the Dinobots to include them into the film? |

Totally possible because it's sci-fi, right?

On a more serious note, Bob, you haven't answered my questions yet. If you don't want to answer them, say "no comment".
1) You already addressed the Arcee-in-early-drafts/motorcycle-used-by-Lennox-for-attack-on-Blackout issue at your panel at last year's BotCon, but reports seem contradictory. Could you please, once and for all, conclusively explain the exact relationship of Arcee and Lennox' motorcycle? Was there ever any scenario where Arcee would, could, should have been that motorcycle, or are they two completely unrelated elements?
2) ASSUMING that the returning robot cast from the first movie won't change their robot mode appearances too drastically, in terms of Bumblebee suddenly having his car front as his feet, Optimus having wheels for hands etc.
Will ILM use the existing animation models and simply tweak them a little (in terms of reflecting the small changes to Bumblebee's Camaro design), or has technology advanced so much in the past two years that ILM would rather completely recreate the models from scratch so the designs are ten times more complex, and ten times faster to generate or somesuch? | 1.) The motorcycle gag for Lennox was something we all came up with AFTER we'd cut Arcee. So no relation. However, if Arcee had remained, it would've been a temptation to make them one and the same.
2.) Yes. They'll keep some of their models and tweak them. |

This may have been addressed previously, and I apologise if it has, yet I wonder whether the Cybertronians bipedal structure, with human-like proportions, are considered a matter of cosmic coincidence or something more.
While I appreciate anyone with the slightest familiarity with the Transformers product would easily accept their form to mimic humans, I am interested to know if you, as a writer, have your own explanation for the shape and design of the Transformers 'natural' modes, and whether there is much variation to this. i.e. Is Scorponok's robot form native to Cybertron, or an earth mode?
I am well aware of the Entertainment industry's precedent of depicting Extra Terrestrials as humans with funny heads, so I wouldn't contemplate any need for official justification, just wondering if you personally saw, or consider, a reason when writing.
Thanks | Being a fan of UFO theories and the like, if you watch the Press club luncheon in 2001 organized by Dr. Greer, many military and air traffic control types came forward with their seemingly earnest reports, and I've heard many say that we have been visited by MANY different ET's, and that oddly, they all share our basic form, as though it IS somehow part of the fabric of life. |
