And as much as I'd like to, we can't just throw away logic in the movie since it is NOT a cartoon. |

...The main problem sees to be *why* they would become dinosaurs to disguise themselves. I say we're looking at the problem the wrong way. Dinobots (or even just Grimlock) could start off as normal (large) vehicles. However, there may come a time when the Autobots need brute strength and there's no longer any point in hiding. That's when they can scan and change their forms to kickass robotic dinosaurs (say for a big climatic battle). Me Grimlock sick of hiding, me Grimlock king! Sam could totally start flying with no explanation, Optimus Prime could grow to GIANT size and smack Megatron with ASTEROIDS, Megatron opens a black hole that swallows Earth, and everyone who dies can instantly resurrect himself after an LSD trip through Heaven, Hell, Porgatory and the Fourth Dimension.
Totally possible because it's sci-fi, right?

On a more serious note, Bob, you haven't answered my questions yet. If you don't want to answer them, say "no comment".
1) You already addressed the Arcee-in-early-drafts/motorcycle-used-by-Lennox-for-attack-on-Blackout issue at your panel at last year's BotCon, but reports seem contradictory. Could you please, once and for all, conclusively explain the exact relationship of Arcee and Lennox' motorcycle? Was there ever any scenario where Arcee would, could, should have been that motorcycle, or are they two completely unrelated elements?
2) ASSUMING that the returning robot cast from the first movie won't change their robot mode appearances too drastically, in terms of Bumblebee suddenly having his car front as his feet, Optimus having wheels for hands etc.
Will ILM use the existing animation models and simply tweak them a little (in terms of reflecting the small changes to Bumblebee's Camaro design), or has technology advanced so much in the past two years that ILM would rather completely recreate the models from scratch so the designs are ten times more complex, and ten times faster to generate or somesuch?
Looking for a complete Energon Sky Shadow (from Superion Maximus).
Offering: Binaltech Hound, Swindle, Ravage (Corvette), Skids.
Can buy in stores: Robot Heroes Tigatron/Inferno, Ricochet/Predaking.

In light of the discussion raised regarding Dinobots, and the abstract nature of their alternate modes, I am curious as to whether or not there is reasoning behind the clearly humanoid nature of the 'robot modes' in the Transformers Movie franchise.
This may have been addressed previously, and I apologise if it has, yet I wonder whether the Cybertronians bipedal structure, with human-like proportions, are considered a matter of cosmic coincidence or something more.
While I appreciate anyone with the slightest familiarity with the Transformers product would easily accept their form to mimic humans, I am interested to know if you, as a writer, have your own explanation for the shape and design of the Transformers 'natural' modes, and whether there is much variation to this. i.e. Is Scorponok's robot form native to Cybertron, or an earth mode?
I am well aware of the Entertainment industry's precedent of depicting Extra Terrestrials as humans with funny heads, so I wouldn't contemplate any need for official justification, just wondering if you personally saw, or consider, a reason when writing.
Thanks |

I guess it makes total sense though to write about how a kid that calls in about his car getting stolen end up getting arrested somehow, it also even makes MORE sense to write in scenes like "Sam's happy time" instead of more bot vs con action... I will most likely get bashed for saying that but I am speaking for alot of people when i say that. |
