Sorry it seemed that way. |

I also just had a few questions:
- How did you come to decided the alien satellite alt. mode for Soundwave?
- What other alt. modes did you consider for Soundwave?
- Were there any particular Autobots and Decepticons that you had planned on including but were cut? |

Hey Bob,
Wanted to say congrats on the movie! Saw it last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. One thing that threw me was some of the more adult humor. I know that the theater I was in had people laughing up a storm with Wheelie humping Mikalea's leg, and Devastator's nuts, so I guess I'm the minority here and the studio and you guys have to go with what the mainstream wants, but it definitely felt out of place for me. Does stuff like that have to be in summer blockbusters these days? Granted it didn't ruin the movie for me or anything like that, just seemed out of place.
A few questions if you have the time:
1. Was Barricade ever meant to be in the movie? I would've thought he would have taken the place of Sideways, if anything because his model was already built; saves ILM time of having to create another bot that's not going to have much screen time.
2. Do you see Devastator as being made up of individual robots, or just separate pieces? Basically, is he composed of individual Constructicons, or is he just one big Constructicon that has a robot mode, and then transforms into separate vehicles that aren't individual robots?
3. Soundwave looked and sounded great in the time we saw him, even without the vocoder voice (kudos for trying to get it in there though). Was there ever thought of him having more of a role on the battlefield, or was he always meant to be the eye in the sky?
4. Was that Blackout? Was he just revived off camera along with Megatron?
5. Awesome job making Prime the hero he deserved to be. Those scenes were easily the highlights for me. As Bumblebee might be more viewed as the main hero bot by the general public not familiar with TFs after seeing the first film, was there any roadblocks to getting Prime so much hero time?
6. Speaking of BB, were there ever plans for him to speak?
7. Really thought the dialogue and interactions between Megatron and Starscream was very well done. You can't get any more g1 than that.
All in all, I really enjoyed the film, and congratulations on all of your own personal success with Star Trek and now Revenge of the Fallen. http://www.mikeogden3dartist.com |

So a SPY SATELLITE who can see everything seemed like an interesting update. We considered a super rigged up audio kind car and, of course, it's original boom box form.
I wanted every Autobot in there! |

2. I suppose since we didn't commit either way, I wouldn't want to tie the hands of future writers with my non-canon opinion.
3. Fought to have him come down, but so many robots to service and he had his moments -- his main draw is as a spy.
4. Could explain it that way, but I can't remember if he's ever called Blackout in the movie. Is there a Revenge of the Fallen Blackout Toy?
5. We knew we had to do A LOT more with Prime this time, and if we could do it again we would have EVEN MORE time with Prime.
6. We discussed it, but we all loved the musical ability so much, and Bay wanted to focus more on the twins because, as he said, he thought kids would like them
7. Thanks for going! |

#2828 | | Decepticon Join Date: Sep 2008 Posts: 108 Location: Virginia Collection Count: 30 News Credits: 1 | Are you happy with the way the subjective storyline was fleshed out?
I just posted a thread about this subject, and how Sam's emotional storyline didn't have the same emotional impact, at least on me, as the first one's did. I felt oddly detached from the story because of this, though I wanted to love it.
In the first film of course it was about him growing from a boy into a man. Not just getting his first car (and first girlfriend), but becoming a man by taking responsibility and making sacrifices. "No sacrifice, no victory"--what a killer line.
In this film it seems like his subjective storyline is to overcome his desire to not be a part of this war--but it didn't have the same emotional drive as the first to me. The action scenes were great, but even those felt somewhat detached because of the lesser emotional pull. I loved Star Trek by the way, and like the first Transformers, that too had a great emotional, subjective arc that made all the action seem meaningful.
But that's just me. I still enjoyed it and very much appreciate the hard work you and Alex and Ehren put into it. |

Since quite alot of us have seen the movie now can you tell us now what the easter eggs are?
Oh,and what happened to Wheelie? He was in Egypt and then poof he wasn't seen again later on.
And would you think that for Transformers 3 the next logical plot to use would be for Megatron to try to turn earth into Cybertron?
Oh and are you also considering to have less Transformers in the next movie so all Transformers don't get under used?
Oh,and I really enjoyed TF: ROTF last night! Good stuff. |

If Ratchet's the doctor, is Jolt his nurse? Because in the context of the film, all we see him do is help Ratchet supe up Prime. Did Jolt have any speaking lines originally? Bay mentioned that he had cast Anthony Anderson as the voice actor for Jolt.
Do you guys wish you had more creative control to begin with, because it seems so much like you want to do more, but you're getting bombarded from left and right by Hasbro and Activision and GM and the Military and Bay, that it seems like you're no longer 3 screenwriters but more like fifty.
Also, did you plan on killing any Autobots off? (Which didn't happen, save for Prime's, errr coma) |
