thats your opinion. While his outrage maybe over the top he made valid points.

Of which any one for the movie I have yet to see them list why it was "EPIC" or "BADASS"

See this is the problem you want to be taken seriously as to why the film was good you need explain what they did right and not just say it was epic and badass that just tells us you are not thinking it through.

I personally feel that it is quite obvious Orci was more concerned with writing for Star Trek instead of getting this script to gel or maybe it was time constraints or the director. Either way the unfortunate fact is what we got was purely a CGI demo with little to no soul. There are barely any moments where the film slows down to draw the moral line of who the autobots or the decepticons are.

There is still no concept of how the robots feel about anything going on around them not even a remorseful flashback thought or recall of their own history.

Instead we get the fallen shoved down our throats like he is the savior of the Transformers franchise and the complete end all be all of the Mythos. The movie literally puts more problems into the story line than solves.

Sorry if some of us dont just approve because it has "pretty pictures" so like you said

    "put up or shut up"

Explain why its so good and maybe we can come to some agreement or just say hey I have a differant point of view than you but just saying its good is what gets you guys to look like you really only want to incite a TF Fans civil war.

The movie basically fails to do anything for me other than lower the bar even further on a franchise that has much more depth than this "the shallowest of movies".

    Hello Mr. Orci.

I loved the movie, but have a few questions.

    1. Like everyone else wants to know, where is Barricade?
    2. Are the vehicles that formed Devs the actual constructicon robots and are the other constructicons in the battle clones?
    3. Did the Arcee triplets survive.
    4. Will you please bring Bonecrusher and the Constructicons(Devastor) for Transformers 3? Also, could we see Soundwave's robot mode?

    Thank You, ErbFan28

I pretty much agree as well. About the sex jokes, lack of characterization, and over all rushed/lazy feel of the story.

But I like the movie and the autobots having to do what they had to do.

1.) When selecting new, featured Transformers, what are the major steps used to decide who makes the cut? Is it a long process? Or is it a process of "well we need a fast ground fighter" or a "we have to put X Character in this time because..."???
2.) Where you and Kurtzman allowed to really sit down with Michael Bay this time and say "okay we have to have this much robot talking and we need this plot point revealed by this character"? Or was it a battle to get actual robot dialogue in the movie this time?
3.) Who is a character you feel was not used to what you wanted in the movie this time? How where they not used to your expectations?

Mr. Orci, I worship you for making the G1 Megatron/Starscream work.

I think there could've been quite a few sex jokes that didn't need to go in there, but you have to please the older fans and general audience.

I don't really think Megan Fox is all that hot, but some guy behind me kept yelling WHENEVER she appeared on-screen, "BONER!!" Crazyness...

If you come back for the third film, would you make the Prime/Ironhide relationship a bit more prominent? Ala "Old friend" or "I'm on it, Prime!"

    MR Orci,

There's a lot of questions on this thread from fans after seeing the movie, so I figured I'd take the time out to thank you for bringing us these last two movies and helping bring an awesome property back into mainstream consciousness. Being a fan of the Transformers since the beginning, I'm very happy that the movies have done so well and have opened the transformers universe to a whole new group of fans.

Keep doing what you do, and I hope to see you back for round 3

    Hey Bob,

Just wanted to say thank you very much i thought the movie was excellent, I really appreciate all the work you've put into the transformers movies!!!

Also I wanted to ask if Optimus Prime would be keeping any of Jetfire's parts? I saw that he detached an engine off his back but still had some parts fused with his legs and body, just made me curious (and hopeful :) ).

Thanks again for all the hard work, time and effort you've put into transformers, Rand0.

First off... I wanna say that the new Transformers movie is awesome. I have seen it several times already.

    Few questions:
    1) I noticed a lack of screen time for Jolt, the chevy Volt. Were his scenes cut short due to GM going under and did not want to promote a new car in the movie?

    2) Why were there duplicates of the Constructions? We see Long Haul, Mixmaster, etc. fighting at the same time Devastator has already formed.

3)Who was the dinosaur looking Transformer that formed from the ball-bearings that Ravage spit out? Did it have a name?

I think the movie was great and I'm ready for the next one. Keep up the excellent work =)

Are you guys gonna fix Soundwaves voice for the dvd or something. His token appearance was cheapened further by the lack of a voice effect.

What was the point of getting Welker if Soundwave sounded like Dr. Claw.

    MR: ORCI

if the governments allspark shard can bring megs back to life, why can't sams shard bring prime back? it obviously wakes up or brings back jetfire.

if the primes dont harvest suns with nearby life than who constructed the machine in the first place? it would not make sense if they had anything to do with its construction....so did the fallen and his followers construct it and the primes came to stop him?

why did the fallen wait all those years to go back to earth? if he was alive couldn't he have been there the whole time looking for the matrix?

why did the other primes not fly to a far away planet and hide the matrix from him? & why did they sacrifice themselves???

was the matrix destroyed when the fallen took it out of prime?

There's no point to him coming back post-movie release. As if he would stick around for everyone to tear apart what he did (even if it's not something he did).

If you're still reading this bob, I liked it. Thanks.

    Dear Bob...

Congratulations on the big paycheck. I'm very disappointed with the content of the film and I kinda thought that, with you showing up here, maybe you'd help balance out some of the absurdity that Bay seems rather intent on putting in any movie, Transformers included. If nothing else, the fact that you were somewhat put off by the portrayal of the twins in the film at least validates my hopes that you guys have a brain in your head and enough rationale to say "Wait, what?"

The Trek film was fantastic and, obviously, that's partially due to a well-written script done in concert with the director. Personally, I didn't enjoy Transformers 2 very much at all. I'm kinda assuming that the same "think tank" writing style was used for Transformers 2 - you guys making constant updates to the script at the behest of Mike Bay - so I can definitely understand the idea of writing for a paycheck.

As far as I'm concerned, the Transformers film was bad. Like, really bad. However, I wonder how much of this is you and Alex and how much of it was Bay and his third writer buddy muscling in on y'all's work. If your abilities as script-writers proves anything, it's that you're obviously intelligent enough and have a cohesive enough understanding of plot, direction, character development, etc. that it would SEEM like you guys, alone, would not be responsible for the ridiculously confusing story we got.

If y'all were writing for a paycheck, (and honestly, dude, I can totally understand that, because in the film business, you need to keep the projects rolling in, regardless of target demographic, in order to get paid,) then you were writing for a paycheck and I respect that. However, if you guys really truly believed that you were writing a script that'd be accessible to a wide film-going demographic, I think you've missed your mark by a wide margin. You have certainly, undeniably, catered to very die-hard fans - this site is proof of that. However, you seem to have forgotten about the average movie-goer or, for that case, anybody with an IQ above the 90s range because, honestly, there is a lot of this film that's confusing, embarrassing and downright strange, especially when I see the "written by" credits.

Look, if Mike Bay was the be-all-and-end-all voice in what made it into the film and what didn't, from script to execution, then that's all there is to it and I can shrug and admit that, yeah, Mr. Crazy Action Film Duder is largely responsible for the direction of the film. But, if you and Alex seriously thought you were going in the right direction with this script, regardless of Bay's edits, then I just have to ask...what in the world were guy guys thinking?

    - - -

Also, out of curiosity, who was responsible for the "Don't do much readin'" line? Like, I know the buck has been passed pretty well at this point between you guys, Tom Kenny and (the other voice actor, whose name I forget) and Mike Bay, but honestly - who wrote that line?

I 1000 percent agree with and share your thoughts. I would like to throw in that there were a few GREAT scenes in the movie. Prime's conversation with the *beep* government liason. Prime's fight scene with Megatron, Starscream, and Grindor. Prime's conversation with Sam in the cemetery (great foreshadowing there). Sam's scene with his parents in the desert. The first scene with Wheelie and Makela.

All of the above were awesome and solid scenes. It's just that Michael Bay absolutely should NEVER BE ALLOWED to influnce the script for TF3. He's awesome for directing action, but is a total loser when it comes to script and character development.

MR ORCI: the planet megs starscream & the fallen had their meeeting....was that the nemesis or could it be some other form of base and the nemesis could appear in TF3?

was the matrix destroyed? if not then if a transformer dies in TF3 then all the autobots need to do is stick the matrix in them and they rise again.... but that would be dumb so how would you explain why prime can be revived but other bots can't?

    thanks

Since you and Kurtzman were unhappy with the way the twins were portrayed how had you originally envisioned/written them?
