I like those lines -- huge laughs from non-fans. However, because fans also deserve a break -- we'll keep Optimus' voice classic for you this time around.

Thanks again for taking the time to answer questions with everyone.

You've said in prior posts and interviews that the first movie dealt mainly with discovery and introducing these characters. Would you say that there is a central theme or idea that guides the second movie? If so, could you give a clue? :D

Yes... one of the themes is about the responsibilities you face when being away from home -- reflected by Sam going to college and by the fact that the Transformers themselves, are of course, far from Cybertron.

That's pretty cool, I can dig that. Is this concept going to be something explored by all of the Autobot characters, or just a few of them?

(I figure it's the Autobots because they're the only ones that seem to slow down long enough in the movie to actually do something like...y'know, think or contemplate. :lol  )

I like those lines too... made Optimus a little more 3 dimensional (character-wise). Plus I enjoy laughing at/with my Transformers films (and really all films) while also taking them seriously. I think that's why I enjoyed the movie so much.

Mr. Orci, I just need to ask one more question:

    - You have said several times that the fandom had a great influence on Transformers 1. Now, how in the hell can we have influence, or give feedback if we don't get to see some character designs? :D  Is there ever going to be an announcement about which new robots are going to be in Transformers: ROTF?? I can't wait to see some new designs.

    Mr Orci,

Is there a chance we might see any characters that are smaller than Frenzy was in TF:ROTF?

I have one question that I hope you could answer:

Are the Autobots still hiding around in disguise, or do they have a more secure way of doing business without having to spend all their time in vehicle mode?

Here's one that you could probably answer: Will tehre be any snappy and/or witty dialogue between robots aswell as some serious lines and conversations like the scene in teh first movie where the Autobots (minus Bumblebee) were deciding their next plan of action?

    hello roberto,

during your work on star trek, did JJ Abrams ever talk about the possibility of taking over a transformers movie if Michael Bay show no more interrest in the future?

in the script treatment release on the internet a few month ago,did they are some of those ideas that are in the final draft?

what would be the greatest challenge or dream for your as a writer?do you have a dream movie you would love to write?

    Hey Bob,

I asked before, might have been lost in the flow.

How would you describe Hasbro's involvement? Are they rather supportive (as in, pushing for Cullen and Welker, as you and Alex also did), or do you feel a lot of pressure from them (as in, "China needs to start with toys NOW!")?

Also, how much do you yourself write the characters with potential toys and toy gimmicks in mind, without Hasbro asking you to?

Directors of JJ's caliber don't like the idea of taking over other's franchises. They like to be a part of creating their own.

As far as the leaked treatment, I only read the first line or two to verify that it was fake.

As far as a dream movie... a couple... but I think it's bad luck to say them out loud!:)

We felt no pressure from Hasbro. We knew our responsibility was to make the right live action translation, and that the movie had to come first, and if they couldn't understand that, they could go suck it -- we don't work for them. Luckily, they did understand that and they were AWESOME. Totally supportive, wanting to do anything they could to help us realize our vision of what the live action movie should be, and really caring about the fans and not just about selling toys.

I like to see movies as a fan, and nothing would ruin a movie more for me than to see my stupid face in it.
