You mention you will be heading back into the editing room. I may have a suggestion, perhaps not for you, but the fx people. Because i have seen the first film like a trillion times i have noticed some problems with the size and scale of some of the bots. Mainly in reference to the autobots, there are scenes in which ironhide is in proportion to optimus (ie. ironhides 26ft, to primes 32ft). However, some scenes Prime is towering over the others and ironhide looks like he is only 20ft tall. For example, at the very end of the film when ironhide hands prime jazz's remains and ratchet walks behind prime the scale is quite off. Then a minute later after the shot goes to BB for a quick second the scale seems to be okay with ironhide and ratchet in the same position only this time in proper scale and proportion. I noticed this quite a few times throughout the film, just wondering if this was ever noticed????? Some may not notice, but i think its important, cant just showcase prime all the time by having him tower over everyone.


Have a look at that scene i mentioned and you'll notice, i have picked it up in several scenes.

Chromia's biography was recently leaked. It states that she and Ironhide are going to be good friends. In the original cartoon, there are some references to she and Ironhide being more involved in a romantic manner than simply a friendship. Can you shed any light on if there will be any romance in the movie, besides Sam and Mikaela?

Mr. Orochi, some time back John Voight said that when he was working on the film, that the original script made it clear that "no one had any idea what the Secretary of Defense actually did" and he had to adjust/fix his part. Just curious if this was true, or was he just trying to make himself look good?

The bots are going to be in the majority of the film, as opposed to the first one. So i wouldnt be suprised if it is a fair bit shorter for budget reasons. Unless the film up time with all human characters, something most seem to complain about.

 

Probably a tad longer.

 

Yes that is great news!!!! I was worried this one may be shorter cuz im assuming we will see more of the bots and for budget reasons i assumed maybe you would make it shorter... This is great, 2 and half hours of transformers, never been more excited for a film....thanks

I no for the last film you guys were editing stuff until like 2 weeks before release.. Now I am just wondering with 3 months left would you guys make a major change such as removing a transformers character or adding one in? more than likely take one out cuz its mostly CGI right? Im just wondering would you guys make that type of decision or is it to difficult?

 

It's possible, but not likely it will be anything as drastic as adding or removing a character. That kind of decision is a little more difficult because the FX take a long time to get right. Much easier to simply adjust dialogue.

Just this week Chromia toy bio revealed she is in the film and it states she becomes reunited with long time friend ironhide, I think that is awesome how you guys incorporated that G1 storline...much appreciated! Also her bio states she has sisters..along with these sisters there are the twins.. In the 1st film prime called megs his brother...my question is will there be any explanation of how bots are related? like how are they brother and sister?

Any chance this film will scare the shit out of my 6 and 9 year old sons? They both had no problem with the first one, but the tone on this looks darker.

And secondly, when Optimus Prime died in the animated film back in the 80's I must admit mye eyes were not dry (don't judge me, I was a kid and it was a heartfelt experience loosing my hero like that). Any chance there will be a tear or two in this one (thinking of the kids of course. I never cry ^ ^)?

well I guess there doesn't need to be but I think the generally public may ask the question..how are transformers related..do they have parents and they have more than one child? i dunno..lol...I was thinkin along the lines of the allspark or primus created sparks...but some sparks during creation were drawn to eachoother so primus gave them the ability to combine and they always worked together..this led to other transformers calling those who can combine brothers or sisters...that problie wont work tho considering i think prime can combine w/ jetfire and im sure you guys already have an ecplanation of why certain bots can combine
