Yes, to some degree. But they didn't entirely redesign the aesthetic.

Speaking of hologram drivers; I know it's not really an important plot point, but is TF2:ROTF going to go into the idea of that a little deeper? Like more of the bots with hologram drivers. The only ones in the last movie were all 'cons.

I liked that the 'cons all had the same hologram driver. I think it would be an interesting way to subtly add more character by having each Autobot have their own unique hologram driver. Without speaking a line, just the look of the type of human they each picked would say something about their personality. And just that they actually have unique drivers says something about the 'bots in general.

It also helps get around the whole 'bots talking in alt-mode issue...

I agree. I like the idea of all the same hollograms for the cons, but for the autobots, I dunno. I think really the only hollogram they really need to hardcore focus on is Optimus. The others can be sweet looking, but not really the focus in alt-mode, ya know?
