You are right autobotguy some vehicles in the 80's & 90's had fuel injection and distributors but if my memory serves me correctly they were throttle body fuel injected (kinda like an electronic carburetor). I had a 77 Chevy van with a 4.3L V-6 and it was throttle body with a distributor as well as my 89 Nissan Sentra did. So I will amend my previous statement and say "I have yet to see an engine with 1 fuel injector per cylinder on a fuel rail setup retain the distributor & cap."

Now as far as her not knowing what she is talking about, that doesn't ruin the movie for me. I enjoy it just the same. Maybe she just has diarrhea of the mouth and wants to impress Sam. Maybe it Michael Bay saying, "I want something more bad ass under that hood than a high rise double pump." I just wish they had taken the time to make proper script adjustments.

There coulda been no dialogue in that scene, no music, and I would have still been happy, in fact they shoulda just paused that moment on/at her stomach and stuck it randomly throughout the movie...yep, meant at or on

I'm pretty sure my 96 LT1 Z28 had a distributor. My water pump developed a leak and the cap was behind it. I found out about the leak when the car developed a leak. So it had individual injectors per cylinder and a distributor cap. I think that changed in 98 when the Z upgraded to the LS1.

I laughed about it the same way i get a kick out of movies when they show the hero dropping the clutch and shifting , then when they park or there's an interior veiw it's an automatic.

Technical terms are good in movies to make dumb characters look smart, regardless if it's correct or not. Just look at 90% of the military movies. They make me laugh.

    :lol  double pump :lol

I'm with Squirrel Car. I have no idea what any of that mechanical jargon meant. I just thought double pump and Sam's reaction were funny.

Word. I don't let that stuff--or medical stuff, which is just as bad in movies--bother me. I just enjoy explosions and hot nurses.

My dad, on the other hand, was 75th Rgt back in the day. He damn near counts rounds expended so he can call attention to failures to reload. It's aggravating as hell to watch movies with him.

Michael Bay doesn't care about how we feel about engines.

Well I did like the "Double Pumper" Use of the word,

Well you CAN get a Cross Ram EFI Manifold and put it on a Regular Small Block Chevy, the idea of having all that Horsepower, for a Guardidan and still look like he is a little "Cobby" But still able to DRIVE That engine was not something you see out of a Corvette, thats just one car guys opinion,

Of course having a girl like that Saying the words, "Double Pumper" I know I dont like the idea, But she was more or less coming on to him lol

But I know I will get alot of Flack here for it but, a loose cap you can have one on a Small Block thats been retrofitted with that kinda Induction system

Here is what it might look like I mean its out there just have to mount it to the Engine

The problem is that the engine they showed was not the engine they described. In fact, if you look at the rest of the car when they cut to the engine you will notice that even the parts of the car that are outside of the engine look knew. I think this may be a shot from the concept camaro.
