Barricade was awesome his own. Having a Decepticon as a police car is freaking AWESOME in my opinion. Using something typically sybolizing protection/ law/ order being a manical killer evil robot is too perfect. I really hope both Barricade and Prowl are in the sequels...the ultimate good cop/ bad cop scenario! | |

Ever since the early days when info first started coming in, I've really dug the whole idea of Barricade. Him being a total liar, using human symbols of authority to gain trust, the whole "To punish and enslave..." schtick. Just a badass character and one of my personal favorites.
I'd much prefer a sorta Barricade/Prowl rivalry than Barricade being Prowl.

Silly, isn't it?
Barricade is a character (a popular one too), that had a lot of personality, and was reasonably developed given the screen time he had(the whole bad-cop/really-bad-cop thing). So why would you put him in a sequel to have to re-develop his character from scratch again to make him prowl? Come on, this isn't a 20 minute segment out of a 100 episode series that can focus on one character for the entire duration.
You'd need to spend time detailing who Prowl is and that he's no Barricade, WHY Prowl was disguised as Barricade, etc etc. And at that point you've blown a ton of screen time on what? Explaining why he did something from the first movie, and some character specific backstory from the first movie?
Total waste of time. It's not g1, doesn't have to match g1, it is it's own continuity that bears a lot of resemblance to the rest of the material it's based off of. Think of it as an original telling(which it pretty much is).

As much as I like G1, it's done(unless someone intends to do a direct continuation and skip that headmasters/rebirth garbage, but I doubt it'll ever happen). | |
