Maybe Barricade wore him out, or, since Barricade obviously wasn't in any shape at the moment to fight, BB thought he was finished.
Brawl was different, as he wouldn't stop till he was dead.

Anyway, I don't think Barricade is Prowl. I mean the Autobots trashed him. If he was a Autobot, Optimus knows the Decepticons are pretty much dead, so whats the need for exposing his cover if their are no Decepticons to infilrate. I don't think they would just dump Prowl away.

By that logic, I declare Starscream to be Waspinator in disguise, Brawl to have been G2 Megatron in disguise, and Blackout to be the left leg of Energon Prime in deep cover.
