#25 | | Maximal Join Date: Jul 2006 Posts: 373 Location: The Great White North | I would much rather have just the faceplate. It is one of Prime's defining features, just like his blue helmet, antennas, forehead crest and cheek vents.
I mean could you imagine seeing Soundwave or Grimlock without their faceplates?
The only time I think it would be acceptable to see Prime's lips is due to some sort of battle damage that caused some of the faceplate to be destroyed. Of course with damage like that some of his actual face would be missing as well.

and then to ruin the iconic facemask character with completely unnecessary lips

I say, get rid of the lips. Keep Primes mask. I mean seriously, what's the point of ANY of the Transformers flipping back and forth between a 'battle mode' and 'standard mode'? What's the real function behind a battle mode helmet? Protection from head trauma? No doubt their brains are already encased behind reinforced titanium or something? Another piece of thin metal in front of Bumblebees face is going to make that much of a difference? Just get rid of all the battle modes. It's not going to make a difference anyway.
In short.....Keep the face plate.  | |

He was his....son, or nephew....or something. I think that's the only time I've ever liked a 'battle mode' head when Primals face plate would slide down. Then he looks really bad ass. | |
