New interview with Shia LaBeouf

Actually even if you personally don't think so, what they think does matter the most as it's their movie. And since they had no problem casting Cullen for Optimus Prime because he could pull it off. Welker obviously couldn't otherwise they'd have cast him and not Weaving as Megatron

Exactly. I'm as disappointed as the next guy that Welker didn't get the part, be we really need to stop looking at this movie through the eyes of G1. They had their reasons why they picked who they did, and despite what some of us think, it's NOT because they wanted to piss us fans off.

They should cosh that man and strap him to a chair before every single interview he does.
And not TF without Cullen? That's a daft thing to say given the contribution of other actors to the role. I don't think the average movie-goer would miss a beat if a decent, imposing non-Cullen voice came from PRIME as long as it gave him the required gravitas.

I found that pretty over the top hyperbolic myself. As honestly Gary Chalk makes a great Prime anyway. That and considering he's born in 1986, which was the tail end of G1, I'm kind of surprised he said that

No one got paid over $70,000? I thought atleast Jon Voight would have been paid more. I'm suprised he crawled out of bed to do this movie!

I don't think Voight's got a plethora of movie offers, or else he's got the $$ in the bank to allow himself to pick what's interesting.

I doubt Shia knows how much $$ people make. Heck, I'd be surprised if Dushamel doesn't make close to $70k/ep for Las Vegas, seeing as he is a big draw in viewership (he is 1 of the reasons I tune in - other is decent writing for a network show & Caan cracks me up sometimes). I'm waiting for Shia to get muzzled - he drops such interesting tidbits, even if they're completely wrong. Course, I hope he doesn't get muzzled - he generates quite a bit of chatter on these boards (and others I'm on).

I was amazed how "clean" that interview is - either somebody grabbed that kid & explained about how uncouthness (swearing) does nothing for his career, or it's just a given that he's gonna get cleaned up by the publication. Given that there is 1 swear word, I'm thinking someone got to him. I'm glad - I enjoyed reading it, and it didn't scream "new young actor", which he really isn't.

Not that I'm usually one to defend this guy, but I think the most volitile interviews he gave were during the crunch time of production and that stress can bring out the worst in people.

Being that this is a movie based on toys - Thus it needs to appeal to kids - I hope he can contol it going forward....
