My simple movie answers

just a few of my takes on some of the answers.....

Q: Why is Optimus not a flat-nosed red truck?
A: Because flames let him be blue and red, and if he was a flat nosed truck he would be pretty damn small, the only reason they managed to get him even close to the size of the average decepticon - ie. jet, tank etc - is through the extra bulk provided by the nose of the truck.

Q: Why don't the transformers look boxy like in G1?
A: because g1 looks rubbish. the only place it could possibly work is in a flat simplistic 80s cartoon. the transformations are absurd, just take a look at my ironhide animated gif and youll see what i mean. the robots just look like men in carboard transformers costumes, it would be totally impossible for any g1 cartoon or comic transformer to actually transform into a vehicle. the g1 toys could transform fro mvehicles just fine, but their robot versions looked like crap and could barely move. imagine if movie optimus prime had the same degree of articulation as g1 toy prime, or any of them at all for that matter hahahaa

Q: Why didn't they let the fans write the script?
A: Snakes on a plane. The average fan doesn't know shit, how many of them have english degrees or have been to film school?

Q: Why are there more decepticons than autobots?
A: Because that's a key part of transformers - the autbots are always portrayed as the underdogs, in G1 the decepticons can fly, have big guns, control cybertron.

My answer: no clue where you get that from, atleast in Texas we have more flat nose than nosed ones

My answer: not even close, its the same reason that there is no BB Alt VW Bug, VW will not let their cars be depicted as War Machines, plus the contract with GM

Q: Why are the autobots scary looking?
A: Only if you think they do. I don't think they look ugly, and neither do the decepticons. As much.

Q: Why are the new designs so ugly?
A: It's all opinion, but basically for those who asked this question: because it isn't G1. Agreed

A: Because no mass shifting and they need Prime tall enough to fight Megs.

A: Realism. Marketing. Money. And not looking like a 20-year old cartoon.

Q: Why is Michael Bay directing this movie?
A: Because it's an action movie. He's one of the top names in action films, and his action sequences have won academy awards. Agreed.

Q: Why isn't (insert character) in it?
A: There wasn't room in the introductory film. There will be more in TF2 and TF3. Agreed.

Q: Why does Megatron have teeth?
A: Visual aesthetics. He looks more threatening, and he also is supposed to eat sparks. Can't eat a spark without incisors. Or bite if he's in hand-to-hand combat.

Q: Why isn't Bumblebee a VW bug?
A: VW doesn't want anything to do with the flick. Also, Bug=Herbie.

Q: Why didn't they let the fans write the script?
A: Because it would have sucked, for numerous reasons. Ditto.

Q: Why hasn't Michael Bay been listening to the fans?
A: He has. Re: Megs head.

Q: Why are there more decepticons than autobots?
A: To make the autobots seem more heroic and kick-ass.

Because a flat nose didn't have enough mass/volume to make Optimus as tall as they wanted him to be in robot mode.

Pretty much this whole thread is a flamebait for those that dislike the movie for whatever reasons and it is the only reason it was probably created in the first place...
