That's not CG. That's concept art. Digital concept art, maybe, but I doubt those are working animation models.

In any case, Megs is still awful and the faces lack any kind of definition. I don't know why they chose to portray the heads that way. With decent faces these models wouldn't be that bad (except for Megs of course).

I think these designs look awesome. I can tell that each of these is a new interpretation of the older characters. And I'm sorry, but Megatron is the best looking of those three, in my opinion. They took goofy ol' buckethead and made him look sinister, evil, and downright amazing. When actually posed, these bots really have character and depth. I cannot wait to see them in action.

    I thought these'd be new pics :(

Either way I've got no problem with them :D

You plan to see the movie TWICE?!?! :sly:

Wouldn't you have gotten bored of the movie by then? :p

Do it. If this movie is a monster success, I'll be the first one to admit that I underestimated it and was wrong.

But at the same time, let's make sure we're all on the same page of what "success" actually means. Being the default #1 movie on opening week/end doesn't cut it, especially since we already know it's not going to have any head-to-head competition.

Add to that, if every review of this thing says it sucks but it still makes $500 Million over the course of 3 months, will that really be a measure of success or just the default numbers brought in by people curious enough to pay seeing it? I personally think that 75% of the audience who goes to this are doing so for no other reason than to see how it LOOKS - they're not going with the mindset that it'll be a *good* movie (ie: well written, well acted, good story & plot, etc).

To me, a successful movie is based almost entirely on reviews & feedback, not the number of dollars it cost people to make those judgements in the first place. But if it continues to pull in millions of dollars even after non-stop bad reviews & ridicule, then I guess it will at least be deemed a Hollywood success.

Ehh, those still don't look like they're animate or anything. Oh well, more art that'll likely be in the moviebook.

Nice to see some actual semblence of poses on 'em, though. :D  Bumblebee's chest-up looks awesome.

Politics is strictly taboo on this board, one of the main reasons I post here. Emotions run high enough already with anything related to the movie--let's leave this stuff out.

    EDIT: Grammar

    :rolleyes2

Why would it matter now? You've already decided you don't like the movie. So the trailer which is being released on the 22nd of this month won't change your mind now will it? It seems you've prett much closed yourself off to the possibility of enjoying it

Those who like the still images and whatnot will probably like the trailer as they're looking forward to the movie. And those that dislike the still images and whatnot will hate the trailer. The attitude going in will determine who and if you enjoy the movie itself

So that comment of yours comes across as kind of pompous and such.

And besides what are you trying to prove right now? It's not like looking at the trailer knowing you'll hate it will make you look good. It'll honestly just be a waste of your time

Was the original Star Wars not a success? Critics loathed it until they realized people liked it. How about the prequals? HECK OF a lot of money made there.

How about the Matrix 2 and 3?

    X-Men 3?

Or how about this little gem: Was Transformers: The Movie successful? Because, as you know, it failed utterly at the Box Office.

Definitely a render, but with extra photoshoppery on top, for the bumblebees at least, and not with all the rendering trickery you'd apply to make shots to be integrated to the movie. These are likely for promo illustrations: posters, billboards, boxart and all that.

Point being, the design has been tweaked. I understand it hasn't been tweaked to many fan's specification, but that's not a basis for claiming they didn't change anything. If half the fans want to hate something that's absolutely fine, but we should at least have the decency not to fabricate information to justify our dislike.

Actually, if you look closely, Meg's mouth is different, it doesn't look so much like a paper shredder, and Prime head look a little more like the classic.

    lol'd at that one.

Im beginning to wonder if this could be a big joke. Could Bay be messing with the fans? Could he be trying to throw us off of his trail?
Otherwise would he be so inconsiderate of the fanbase? Does he really feel that the non-tf fan base will come out in droves to see this? I would think that having the fan-base on your side would be a good thing. I am not sure that I am going to support this film. A 10.00 ticket could buy you an actual Transformer.

    I am just curious.

Do you -have- to reply to -every- single post that is not gushing with "I LOVE THE DESIGNS! THIS WILL BE GREAT! EVERYTHING IS FINE! NOTHING TO SEE HERE! MOVE ALONG!" Then you dismantle every single paragraph and try to justify your position.

The bottom line is that the entire TFW2005 boards -knows- your opinion of the movie and the bots designs. Ditto for the people that dislike or hate them.

I agree with another psoter that we should, for the most part, type what we feel and leave it at that for these types of posts. NO ONE is going to change anyone else's mind at this point.

It's all been done to death at this time, Shaun C.

I really do feel that it is becoming grating that you keep having to reply and attempt to dismantle every single post that does not agree with your worldview of what Transformers are.

Oh give me a break. I have not decided that I already don't like the movie, and it's obvious you missed the entire point of my comment since this has nothing to do with the upcoming new trailer. It's in reference to how Bay/Orci/Murphy/etc. keep telling us what we're seeing & loathing isn't finished, even though design after design after design is leaked on a pretty regular basis, not to mention the full scale mock-up of BB we've seen 20 times over by now. They're basically trying to convince a circle isn't a circle and black isn't black - even though that's exactly what it all is. For the amount of designs we've seen, wow, they sure have tons of work that apparently was all for nothing - and according to them - nowhere close to being finished. Yeah right. How convenient for them that that's all the stuff that has been leaked, but oh no, has nothing at all to do with the final movie.

well, still liking the Autobot bodies, but still think they're making a tragic mistake with the way they handled the faces (yet still reserving judgement until they're in motion), and Megatron still looks like Generic FPS Grunt-bot that he's looked like in every shot. really can't believe anyone thought that he was an approvable design.

I'll go on record predicting an 80-100 mil. opening weekend (it is 4th of July and they have no competition, and you KNOW that they'll have an insane level of Marketing behind it) but it will likely suffer 60%+ drop off the second weekend, and be utterly trounced by Harry Potter.

given the "talent" involved, i'll be surprised if it makes back it's $$$ before DVD. none of Bay's films have done over $200mil.

I'm still going to watch this movie when it comes out. Damn, Megan Fox is sexy.
