His eyes! Where are his eyes?!? Dammit Bay, Optimus Prime needs eyes! And I'm not digging the pink spots, either. Everyone knows that Optimus Prime uses Clearacil(tm)...

And, yes, I know, I know.

Still, cool to see. And interesting - I can't quite figure out the scale. Looks bigger than it should be..?

Seeing that has given me a lot more faith in the movie.

I thought there was gonna be no mass shifting? How the hell does a head that big fit inside a truck along with all the other bot parts? I'm familiar with how big trucks are ( I drive one for a living ) and there is no way the bot parts from the pics we've seen could all cram inside of one.

This certainly renews my hope that this movie will present Transformers in a way that’s new, while it pays tribute to what is classic and timeless.

That shape certainly looks better than the leaked pics version.

Huh. Interesting. I wouldnt read to much into that design though as it's going to get replaced by CGI later. The real thing will be a lot more complicated which will improve it for some, make it worse for others.

Looks like a prop for a human character to stand on. Not bad, although it's too big to be realistic. Perhaps a good size for a gestalt, but not Prime.

It's far too out of scale. There are truck cabs in the background for god's sake, there's no way a head that size could realistically be part of a robot that comes from a truck.

Depends on the shot they're using it for. The had something like 4 or 5 different sizes for the One Ring in Lord of the Rings, and not just for Hobbit to Human scale, but for shooting, like in the scene in Fellowship where Boromir picks it up off the snow and Frodo and Strider are in the shot behind it. It's HUGE! But it's all for scale and effect.

You guys do realize this is a PROP right? It's probably for a shot where Prime holds Spike in his hand and brings him to face level or something. I highly doubt thats how big he will really be.

It's hard to get a good idea of its size anyway since there isn't any good scale references next to it. You can't really tell how far away or how big those trucks in the background are, for example.

Still, the thing looks pretty damn big, enough to make me think that the 28-foot tall Prime we were quoted earlier was wrong.

Or it could be for a KISS-play shot where Prime makes out with a hot teenager.

But ashe5k makes a good point. How could I have forgotten that? I've watched all of the LotR extras, dammit! Even the stills galleries!

So yeah, it could just be that large for effect. As to whether or not it'll actually be "realistic"... Guess we'll have to wait 'til next July to find out. :)  (Or August 2008 for those of us in the UK...)
