Don't know how many of you follow transformers on facebook but this morning they released one of their montage videos as they have done for BB OP and Megatron in the past. This morning it was Barricade and they showed him all the way up to DOTM. Which I thought was awesome as it was maybe showing that they would acknowledge that was the last appearance of him and confirm it wasn't a "clone" like all the other reused cg models in the Chicago battle.

Well the video is still up but it has been reposted and edited and all the DOTM baricade footage is gone.... Which I found odd. It actually was pretty neat to see all the clips which is why I wanted to watch again, which is why I now know it has been edited.

(Yes I assume it is barricade in DOTM as far as I know it has never been officially confirmed)

 

Whait, they didn't show him in DOTM, only a few short clips from the first movie!

Huh. Maybe whoever manages the facebook content was told that they were retconning Barricade out of DOTM. That, or they're preparing for the possibility.

Yeah i don't want to read too far into it. But it happened for some reason, its something to think about.

 

I wouldn't read to much into it guys. It's just a fan service vid. Nothing more nothing less. Just because there was a version that had his DOTM clips in it and now there isn't, doesn't mean much at all.

although there is no reason to over analyze this. For some reason all DOTM clips were cut. Why would someone take the time to make the edit and post it, and then take it down and re edit it? All of the other videos span the films that the character is in. This doesn't(anymore).

There must be some reason to it, it's not logical to remove it just to do it. The maker either realized that it wasn't in fact barricade in DOTM or...or...who knows! ha ha which is why I posted this, I found it interesting!!

Sounds like it was nice, I was just under the impression that there were clips from the movie and pre viz shots never seen before.

Ha I would agree with you, it only makes sense but shall I introduce you to Grindor? I know that's kind of different but it wouldn't surprise me.

 

The problem with Grindor is that was just the name given to the toy. IMO who we seen in ROTF was a revived Blackout. The reason I say that is because he was just as rusted all over as Megs was. Like he too was sitting at the bottom of the Ocean. In movie 1, we see Blackouts parts when Megs was dumped. So it's assumed Blackout was also dumped with Megs.

The reason I still say it was Blackout in ROTF was because of the Megs revival scene. The navy sonar detection guy calls out 5 targets dropping in the water right? That would be 4 Constructicons and Ravage. 1 Constructicon was killed for parts. So that left 3 and Ravage. Add revived Megs, that should have been 5 still coming back up right? But the sonar guy now says 6 contacts coming up lol. So who was the 6th? I think so much was cut from ROTF because of the writers strike that they omitted Blackouts revival and just decided to make a new colored toy and rename it to sell a new toy.

 

I like this theory and used to agree. Here's why I don't. In the game he was Grindor and in the novel adaptation he was a generic helicopter decepticon. They couldn't rename Dino for the dark of the moon game so why would they rename blackout Grindor in the game?

That's why I honestly think that it's possible that barricade wasn't in dotm and that was a "clone" as we saw sideways in the Chicago battle,albeit blink and you miss him, as well as bone crusher twice in rotf.

This is why I pointed out the video, cuz the ppl like us who have seen the movies a gazillion times, we're kind of left in the dark in the past. I would like to know if it's blackout. Just someone officially say it!!! And the change of the barricade video just makes me wonder.

Let me ask you this tonyformer, could the targets rising from the sea, could the extra one have been scalpel"the doctor" since he was ejected from ravage? Idk just thinking. Honestly I like your theory better then mine I just don't know, and don't want to turn this into a blackout thread lol.

 

id think being Scalpel had to drop down with Ravage, that Ravage would have just brought him back up lol. But yeah let's get back to Barricade. Still say it's Barricade in DOTM only because he has Barricades car number and with the way they used him as kind of commander type under Shock and Soundwave and him throwing the lesser Cons around for them letting Sojndwave die, he seemed to important (even in his small role) to just be a clone.

 

I agree with everything you said. I do wonder why the edit tho, like you said it's just a promo video, we shall see!

I'm with tonyformer about it being Barricade, I'm sure at some point he says to Bumblebee "Remember me?".
