i actually really like the idea of some of the decepticons not converting to english

for one, it helps play up the mysterious evil alien robots factor, two we get to for the first time hear what cybertronian speach sounds like, and three it gives them a little more character. megatron not wanting to defile himself with an earth alt mode, decepticons not wanting to defile themselves by speaking earth languages. says a bit for how much they really hate us

I likes it, would definitely pay to see it even if it wasn't a TF movie.

The action scenes in that were amazing reads, I totally got visions in my head of 'em.

The subtitled Cybertronian Speech bits...dunno. It's a neat addition as far as new canon goes, but...it also sort of screws over the Decepticon's voice actors. That's one thing I wouldn't miss, but eh.

And yeah, Starscream's almost not in the movie.

Hoping this is indicative of what's to come, but with some improvements.

Very much hoping Peter Cullen's being taught a Chinese phrase, either way. :D

I really enjoyed the parts i read from the script I thought it was much better than what i was expecting especially since it was a draft.

i also like the idea of the decepticons speaking another language it makes tham seem more descrete and evil.

Despite the awful review it had previously recieved on this forum a few months ago, I can totally see how great this movie really will be.

Got to get the X-men fans in somehow.

I still have a number of issues with it. I still think when Bumblebee's revealed he should start talking but that doesn't seem likely to be changing. I guess I'll have to accept that.

And yeah, the Decepticons MUST have had a LOT of fleshing out if Roberto and Alex's interview is to believed. Virtually none of the characteristics they described for the 'cons are in the Februrary script so I'm hopeful that we'll see a lot more developed voices in the final version.

Most of the script I think is awesome and I LOVE the humans. There's a few cheesy moments, but Sam's funny and entertaining and a great core character.

I still hate Frenzy being so weak and ultimately defeatable though. And the way his constant decapitations are clearly being played for laughs... ugh.

A lot of my issues with the script have been addressed though, so, cool.

I've flicked through up until when Bumblebee + Brawl go at it, + Soundwave gets his ass kicked.

This movie is gonna rock, and Starscream barely being in it sounds great, he looked stupid anyway.

really enjoyed that. if they have developed the characters of the TFs then I think we are going to get a surprisingly very good TF movie.

    Spoilerific, yo'.

    It was a decent start.

The plot was a bit weak in places... the Deceps are after the magical cube so they can conquer the universe for some reason. Humans seem to take out TFs without too much trouble. A certain 'bot dies for no apparent reason and has had no character development at all. The shitty fart joke.

It's very close to being good, but something just feels off about it. Mainly the second half of the film. I mean the main bad guy shows up for only a few minutes and dies. That's pretty lame. I hope that the newer drafts have fleshed out the TF character better, given the 'cons some more speaking and talking between themselves. And damn it, if BB can rescan an alt-mode, refuse limbs back on and all that, how can he not repair his voice box? I think it would have been much better if he got messed up by Brawl/Barricade in that fight, and then when Ratchet shows up he can repair him and give him the new alt mode. Anyway, hopefully some of this has been fixed up by now.

I though I read somewhere that most of the re-writes were done to the third act...

Having read that, I have two thoughts:

    1. Yyyyyyyyyyyyyyup. That's a Michael Bay film, all right.

    2. A lot of the stuff I noticed that had me biting my tongue was the stuff Llamatron pointed out. I'm also not a big fan of cheese in some parts of the second act.

    3. The whole thing feels like the introduction story for "Transformers:Armada."

I agree, and it doesn't do all that well in hinting at a sequel (which could be remedied by a simple 5 second addition), and I'm sure some of the "destruction" Hasbro can't be too enamored with.

But I think the first and second acts, particularly with BB and Sam are well written and well designed, and I think will be a highlight of the film for many

I do think that Bumblebee should talk just as much as anyone else, but I do think that with Ratchet mentioning his voicebox being damaged its at least explained. Yes, Ratchet could fix it, but maybe its an issue with available parts and with their description of the war maybe they never had the resources to fix it. Still doesn't excuse him being mute if there are sequals though. :)

Also, with this script I definitely don't think too many humans is going to be an issue. The Transformers are involved pretty much throughout the whole movie, at least up to the part I've read.

Yeah, I've had a bit of time to think it over, and the last act does feel rushed - not in a good way. Of course you want the momentum and everything to be reaching feverpitch at the end for all the action and so forth, but it just felt like the ideas and writing had been rushed. Hopefully they will have time to have fleshed it out.

    Some more random thoughts:

Starscream blowing up that helicopter that's about to save Sam is awesome.

Mik (Sam's ethnic girl) acts like a 13 year old girl at times, not a late teen. It just feels a bit out of place.

The 'take off your pants' thing. WTF? That's gotta go.

    Simmons was pretty interesting.

About how much will the script change before it reaches it's final form? I'm considering reading the script, but don't want to totally spoil myself, leaving no surprises for the film's release...
