Though not acknowledged in any OFFICIAL capacity we do know that it's in development as reported by Deadline and later confirmed by Akiva Goldsman.

Prime, Megatron and probably Bumblebee are a given, but what other characters do you think we're going to see and what do you have your hopes for in the prequel?

I'd personally love to see more of Charlie Adler's Starscream. I feel like this will be a great opportunity to flesh out some underutilized characters from the films such as Shockwave and Jazz.

 

Depending on whether it takes place before or after the Ark left cybertron it would be pretty cool to see Sentinel leading the autobots and then passing on the leadership to Optimus.

Shockwave is also a must, if they were to really develop him and establish him as a menacing decepticon then maybe his presence in DOTM could be taken more serious. From the way Optimus spoke about him it seems he's powerful and menacing but we never really saw that in the film.

Drift would also be a great character to see but on the decepticon side. Maybe show us what led him to become an autobot.

I really have high hopes for this prequel. It will certainly be smaller than all the films we have so far and that will probably help the movie.

 

Arcee is a must! Thanks to the comics she got more development then some characters who did show up in the movies only to be unceremoniously offed. Give her some kind of development here!

 

Arcee, 'cause as the leading female of the franchise, she deserves a better outing than ROTF.

Starscream, because Charlie Adler was a fantastic Starscream and needed more screen-time, and more of him plotting against Megatron.

Shockwave, 'cause he needs to be taken seriously as a threat, especially the way Optimus spoke of him in DOTM.

Sentinel Prime, because he had to have been there at the start of the war, as Optimus mentions that Sentinel led the Autobots before him. They would have to find a suitable replacement for the late Leonard Nimmoy, sadly.

The Fallen, as he had to be there to sway Megatron to the way of destruction.

Ironhide, Ratchet, and Jazz should appear, as I feel they would have been the earliest Autobots. (Bumblebee, too, if he was alive at the time.)

Soundwave, Laserbeak, and Ravage. They were the earliest Decepticons along with Megatron in Marvel comics continuity, and I think they would work well as Megatron's first followers.

I would love to have cameos from Decepticons like Blackout, Bonecrusher, Brawl, Barricade, Frenzy, Scorponok, etc., just for nostalgia's sake.

 

Nope. That would be Windblade given how much she's being shoved down everybody's throats.

 

Which is exactly why I don't want Windblade in the films any time soon. Then again maybe Hasbro will demand it sooner or later if they haven't already.

 

I would love to see how Drift became an Autobot.

Not really much else I really need as a prequel.

I'd rather have post-DOTM and pre-AOE stories.

 

The only returning movie Decepticons I'd like REALLY to see are Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave and Shockwave.

Returning Autobots I want to see are Optimus, Bumblebee, Ironhide, Ratchet, Jazz, Arcee, Drift and maybe Hot Rod so we can see that "brothers in arms" relationship with Bee. Wouldn't mind if Ironhide and Ratchet were cameos because even that's quite a lot of characters. :L

One or two more returnees wouldn't hurt but there's gonna need to be an emphasis on new characters too or else there won't be any real character deaths.

 

I would like to see the characters from the first film, both Autobot and Decepticon. This film could give Decepticons more character.

Though it's sad that it will probably remove the tie-in comics from continuity.

 

I'd just wanna see the original trilogy characters done better. Mainly the ones I think got lackluster treatment. Ratchet, Arcee, Soundwave, Shockwave etc.

I'm gonna be really hyped for this when/if this ever gets announced.

 

The 2007 line up at least please.

Completely agree. Shockwave was a little disappointing in the movie universe for me even though I've always taken an interest in him.

I wouldn't mind seeing Prowl appear as well, considering he did appear in the movie comics (though, I doubt they'll actually stick with these prequels). Plus, he was supposed to be in the original cast anyway and it would be a good opportunity to have a new take on his character.

 

I'd like to see Hound and Ironhide together.

 

given the mess that is megatron's many plans, I would like if they used this movie to fix that ...

so sentinel and the fallen are good options

and I would love to see dead characters like starscream and jazz make an appearence, like others said ...

shockwave would be cool too

 

Definitely Jazz! And I want Darius as his voice actor again, we saw so little of Jazz which is a big shame. He is one of the original fan-favorite characters and deserved more, even Ironhide and Ratchet got plenty of screentime, Bumblebee - not even worth commenting on it, but poor little Jazz could've done so much more, they have to include him at all costs!

 

So this is my theory for The Last Knight. I think Bumblebee will get his voice back because it's really stupid for him to not have it back yet but also because of his so called relationship with Hot Rod. So I'm thinking that this movie will be the best one of the Franchise with a lot of improvements and fixes. So I think that the Bumblebee coming after TF5 should an will be a prequel but on Cybertron an will show the WFC but also some of the back story behind characters we know and love like how Bumblebee really lost his voice and bring back some characters that have passed to the big screen and also some new characters like warpath. That's all hope you all enjoyed.
