But guys, if they put more black than red, people will confuse him for Hot Rod!  

 

This is still the concept art we've seen before with a color update. I fell for this one too quick.

 

I would have LOVED to have seen Swipe wearing these colors, because red and black  

Drift does look good though.

 

The colors do not really match. Most of Drift's alt mode in the actual filming consists of black compared to red.

I'm guessing this is the case of the PR department rushing to release pictures without confirming with the designers whether it's the finalized form or not.

 

Calm down people this is concept art, not a final render.

 

If this is indeed concept art which is giving us an idea of what Drift may look like in TLK it would make sense why he looks so similar to his AOE design.

 

Oooooh come on Michael Bay I was planning to draw my own concept art of Drift and then compare it to the real one, shouldn't have been that lazy anyway...that AMG logo on the sword though!

 

Even though having a Bayformer Triple Changer is cool (Drift is both copter and car), I think they should have removed or at least toned down the lamellar armor.

 

Afte looking at this thoroughly, i realised this is literally a photoshop of the aoe drift concept art.

 

They've only ever really done that with Optimus and Bumblebee, and that was only to refresh them after have no more or less the same look throughout three movies. Even Megatron, who had three distinct alt modes, kept the same basic robot form, just with different vehicle parts. Same with Mudflap when he changed from Trax concept to Spark (at least as far as we can tell from the toy).

 

After looking at it for a few more times, he now kinda reminds me of those samurai armors on display in some museums

 

There's not nearly as much of the light blue in his AOE robot mode as there's red on this one. The dark blue on him was the 'black' in the car mode, though in the film you can easily tell it's a very dark blue, it was just in the pic Bay released of the Bugatti with the overcast sky making it seem black.

 

Can they just change him and make him Springer please?
