That's awesome and all, and he's not the only standout name in that writers' group, but Bay already chucked out EVERYTHING they came up with earlier this year. They all got paid, they all are G1 Transformers fans, they all left disappointed.
I have yet to see any evidence even remotely suggesting this. In fact, Bay seemed enthusiastic about what the writers came up with, and the writers seemed to enjoy it. Also, I don't recall any information as to what parts of the brand the writers were fans of. Anyways, I look forward to whatever robot reveal there likely will be today as well as presumably into the next week or two.
Collider reported it. I think it was Campea back in February/March. Bay was enthusiastic about it all...and then was like, eh eff it, thanks guys.
Give me a sec. I'm looking for it. It could have been a Collider video too with a 5% chance it was one of the actual writers in the writers group in a Screen Junkies video...but my recollection is that it was Collider.
He literally said nothing about G1 or throwing away writers' ideas. He said the writers did a good job of connecting things together.
Again, how do you know this? By what? The expression in Bay's eyes in that interview w/ Collider? You're assuming way too much about this, in my respectful opinion. It could be possible Bay "rejected" what the writers came up. Yeah, right. Again, you of all people don't really know that. We don't know that. Not everyone who works in Hollywood snoops in on a conversation like a fly on wall if they bothered.
First link: https://youtu.be/kWdjnGmLXto?list=PLayt6616lBcmbuEa2cRW7Xe4_NrnVrxXn Start at 3:05. I'm looking for another, particularly where one of the writers said something.
Okay, that 'they threw all the writers ideas out for bringing Bay back' is just a mere opinion from someone else which you took from and conjured up some unfounded, biased nonsense that is laughable beyond belief. There are media outlets who also do what you just did but instead of in this case me forgiving you because this is just convieneance, they refuse to acknowledge the obvious and just run with it. Sorry to go on. Not your fault by the way.
The guy was just speculating using his own opinions and not official information from Bay, Paramount, or the writers. If you interviewed most people on this board you would get a more educated opinion than listening to that guy.
Ok no. So much no. You're wrong dude. First of all Bay doesn't have that power and secondly if he threw everything out then there would literally be no story. And not all the writers are Transformers fans
You are entitled to your opinion, but that's what it is. An opinion. Don't put words in other people mouths or attribute actions to people unless you have a solid source of information.
Agree that Campea's opinion is just an opinion. But he and Schnepp are correct in that Bay does have the power and can do whatever he wants. The early meetings of the writers' group did consist of Transformers fans. Since it has expanded to the Hasbro Cinematic Universe writers group, yeah, they've gone all over the place with quality writers.
Paramount put this writers group together. Bay cannot change that. If they give him a story he is able to add/subtract some things to his liking like any director, but the group (and specifically the two writers who will pen the script) will have their story put into the movie. That is why the group was formed. And yes, the group did consist of Transformers fans, but not all of them are as you previously stated. You're making up facts.
lets see how this movie does, lets see if Bay directing a post-writers room TF movie pays off or not.
Once again you have to prove that. There's no way that the studio would hire a team of writers and put them through the process they went through just to have all the ideas they came up with ignored. It's just not going to happen.
